A few things, there was an andorian in the star trek comic book as a lead character. that is about the only andorian I remember seeing in a star fleet uniform. I know they were listed in the prime directive rpg but I see that Prime Directive is not on the list of games handled here.

    Cool

    There's a good picture of that <a href="http://www.concept40.com/eas/artoftrek/fedcouncil-andorian-st4.jpg">Andorian admiral</a> at <a href="http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org">Ex Astris Scientia</a>.

I think this would be a good candidate for the species portrait in the Narrator's Guide. The new Andorians are nifty and all, but I like the really tall antennae that the older makeup had. Maybe there are different Andorian ethnicities with different antennae instead of skin color?

All the races to which 'major characters' in TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager have belonged:

Humans, Vulcans, Klingons, Betazoids, Trill, Bajorans, Ferengi, Cardassians, Talaxians and Okampa.

The NG has Romulans, Andorians and Orions.

"No one around here likes the Sheliak?" Very amusing Humanoid! ("Membership Directorate Infestation Eradication Measures...Activated! ")
    Sigh.
I suspect that the Powers That Be may, in fact, neglect the obvious and crucial need for detailed Sheliak information for some time to come. I already started brewing up appropriate stats and packages, but decided to wait for the Narrator's Guide to make sure that this time, I get it all precise and usable.
Besides, I've just had my wisdom teeth yanked from my head. Might take awhile to requalify for "Sentient" status.

Not counting Odo. Which is perfectly understandable to exclude, but he's certainly a major character.

On that account, there was no android either
And no Cardassian was ever a regular cast member

Well, I think that Garak and Dukat both bought the Promotion edge numerous time during the last seasons of DS9 (just like Martok did) .

True - I'm just repeating Decipher's statements on the matter. As you say, its understandable to exclude Odo, though. And Data and the Doctor don't belong to a 'race' of course, so they're not in.

The unusuals, like Data and Odo, might well be covering in a supplament later on. but if you are thinking of having lots of them in your games, then you might well want to create stats for them. After all, Data is the only one of his kind left, I believe Lore was destroyed and Data's Daughter went insane. if I am wrong then, oops. But There was one doctor able to make an advanced being like Data.

Odo on the other hand will probably be covered in the alien source book. Since he is a part of a race, but his race comes from the Jem'hadar area, so seeing alot of them would probably not be normal.
