Question Question about Capable Starship Officer professional Ability

On pg. 66 the capable starship officer professional ability is described as giving the PC only a -5 instead of a -10 on extra skill tests outside their their normal round limit. However, the appendix lists the penalty at a -5 for each action in excess of the PC's alotted number per round (this of course increases with the more extra actions you attempt to take pe round). So which one is correct? Or am I just misunderstanding something?

    Please help

I apoligize if this has already been covered elsewhere

Ok, maybe I should rephrase my question.

What penalty would my PC have if he attempted to perform a third action in the same round? Would it be the -5 listed in the appendix on page 244, or would it be the -10 implied by the descrpition of the capable professional ability on page 66?

    Any thoughts?

Not be rude, but I will bump this up in one more attempt to get some feedback.

Many thanks for both your help and attention (though, I think that would be considered the same thing in this case).

I'm sorry if I came off as kind of pushy. I tend to be a little impatient at times ; I am getting better with age.

Don, I would just like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for your efforts on these boards (and your great website). I can only imagine what kind of time a project like this must consume.

Also, many thanks to all of the other Coda designers and playtesters who have made themselves available on these boards. Not to mention all of the great people that post here. I have browsed a few internet message boards and this one by far is the most civil and knowledgeable out there.

I think you've been more than reasonable waiting three days for an answer. Unfortunately I don't have one to give you as of yet.

Thanks for the kind words--I could use a few right about now.

We finally have an answer on this question!

For Capable and other occurrences of the "-5 instead of -10 for multiple action penalty" statement, change that reference to "-3 instead of -5".
