    USS Lexington - Goodbye

Well as of tonight I have closed the USS Lexington webpage.

Partly because I am making a new game, and partly because of a disagreement with my webhoster. It seems its' tme has come and gone

Thanks to everyone who has visited and complimented the site.

Whatever campaign I run, I promise the webpage will be a good one

Sorry to hear about that Aslan.

Best of luck to you on your new campaign and webpage.

Damn. I was looking forward to more descriptions. Will the new game you are planning have any of the Lex crew in it? You had a pretty good team there.

Oh well, I'm sure what comes next will be just as good. Please do keep us updated.

BTW what ship are you planning on using?

Haven't decided yet. But the setting will be right around the time of DS9: Avatar, a few months after the war. I really want to capitalize on that whole feeling.

I felt the CODA book did a great job of portraying that era.

I am thinking Intrepid class. Tough little ship, good sized crew and loads of info available for it.

But I am always open to suggestions, provided they fit the criteria...

    1] Not too big...no more than 200 - 300 crew

2] Some available info online, even if it is only schematics and pics.

3] No uber-tech-ships. Someday the Katana class will appear, but not for right now.

So feel free to suggest away

Though the end goal is for them to be the characters that will carry on to the next series.

For now the Lexington is done and in an alternate universe. Some aspects of it will reappear, but the continuity is null and void.

Someday I will put them on a Galaxy Class and send them out into the universe

Why don't you do a movie era campaign? That is your favourite era isn't it ? And there is LOADS of info on some of the movie era ships. You can get full Miranda class deckplans for instance. And I know Federation Frontiers is coming out with movie era Constitution deckplans as well.

I gave that some thought and to be honest, while I love it, most of my players are reared on TNG and later. They just don't get it, they think Kirk is funny and stupid.

I will run my Movie style game the day I run my Prime Directive game Unlike most Trekkers I really liked the basic concept of Prime Directive.

Back to this, I think more and more Intrepid may be the way to go here.

    AslanC,

Have you given though to something of an older ship - i.e. an Excelsior or Ambassador - something with a few decades of history, a few personality quirks, etc. My Trek games have all tended to be on more modern ships, but I've often wanted to try my hand at some ship past its prime.

I had one idea for a Niagara that had been through the war and lived. One of her Nacelles had been blown off (the ugly lower one) and they repaired her and kept her going through the war with only two.

Then I say how freakin' huge the Niagara is, just shy of an Ambassador class, which is just shy of a Nebula. So even with more modern automation, we are tlaking about 500 crew minimum, which is more than I want.

Which is a shame, cause it was a neat idea. Them being on this old ship, with an older Captain, trying to hold it all together.

I just need something size and crew count on par with an Interpid. No more than 200 crew and now so freakin' big!

As for Excelsiors and Mirandas, I honestly believe they are best left in the time of the movie gen or a bit later. By 2375 they are a bit long in the tooth, IMHO, FX cost savings aside.

Firstly, I say kick their asses for their anti-Kirkness

Secondly, have you given any thought to an uprated Nova? Especially given the excellent deckplans available (I can't recall, was it Owen Oulton or someone else did them?)
