Well take a look at this...not bad at all eh?
I hope the quality of the product is good, as I do enjoy PD as a game concept.
Of course it isn't CODA, but it is nice

That is a gorgeous cover! If the content is as good, I might get it.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.
And this seems the natural place to ask for people's ideas on a CODA -- GURPS conversion. Stats first, then skills, etc., in that way we can enjoy the best of both worlds (ack, pun wasn't intended....really). thanks!
what I want to know is how they recruited Vincent Price into Starfleet Sciences!!!
An old friend of mine would get a real kick out of that... He used to play Science Officer Lestat, a technophobe scientist in the 18th century style... Even to the point of Flitlocks and wood paneled science station...

The command officer looks vaguely like Ben Browder of Farscape fame, I think.

Here's soe questions and comments about the pic from the SFB discussion board <http://www.starfleetgames.com/discus/>:

Things I noticed about the cover:
1.) The nacelle pylons of the Federation CA(?) are different from the "official" way. Probably a way to get around the Paramount Juggernaught? Or is that a mistake? Or something in between?
2.) Nice Romulan Sparrowhawk in the background. That's enough to prove to me that this really is an ADB project!
3.) The D7 looks pretty accurate.
4.) The girl in the red shirt is either yawning or screaming in anticipacion of her death. The second would be far more accurate, so that's what I'm thinking it is.

1. Its a Fed BC.
2. That was the point.
3. I think it may be a C7.
4. She's trying to be heard over the sound of the commander's sex drive revving up.

Where did you obtain this image? I checked out both ADB's and SGJ's sites, and can't find it.
Do you know when it will be released?

I always did like SFB and Prime Directive. I've been playing those games since the 7th grade. That was back when the only Star Trek I was watching was re-runs of TOS and renting a video of either STTMP, STII, or STIII. I managed to have fun despite the rules. But it's nice to see it in the GURPS system, should be easier for my friends to never had to play a wargame without a computer.

For those that are interested, they have been posting regular status reports on GURPS Prime Directive at Amarillo Design Bureau's bulletin board in the GURPS PD playtest section:

The current theory is hopefully that the content will essentially be finalized Friday, when it will be sent to Steve Jackson for final review before printing. Depending on how long that takes him to look over (176 pages now I believe), and time to make any changes he wants + printing time and then it's done.
Keep in mind it has already been through some initial SJG review processes, I believe all that is left is the final signoff by Steve Jackson himself before they publish.
