Question Would anyone be interested in an Expanded Universe netbook?

I've been putting together various pieces of Expanded Universe stuff, from New Frontier, the Deep Space Nine relaunch novels, and the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, and using it in my game. Mostly it's been NPCs, upgraded starships, and alien races, with some traits thrown in. But over the last couple of days, as I've been able to snatch time, I've thrown together an outline for a potential Expanded Universe sourcebook. Basically, it mirrors the structure of the TNG core rule book: a chapter each for history (well, two here: pre- and post-Dominion War), character races, skills/traits, ships, tech, planets, aliens, and creatures.

Would anyone be interested in such a book? Or am I completely going off on a tangent that nobody cares about?

That is definitely something I'd enjoy - sort of like an Omnipedia of the non-canon but still Trek stuff of the books, geared directly towards the RPG.

Talking

Yes, I would definitely want to see such a book. I especially want to see the DS9 material.

Voted in the negative on this one. I like the idea, but sorry, this looks like a project that needs its scope narrowed down a bit.

Rather than one book, I'd make it at least 3

Nah, slap that stuff all together. I'm interested.

Colour me interested... Although, if this is an expanded universe then there should also be the possibility of adding the New Earth stuff in too? Dont read them myself, but the Movie era crew does qualify as expanded universe...

Unhappy The one problem with including the New Earth/Challenger books...

I don't have the TOS core rule book. If I did, I would include them (and the Rihannsu books), but there's simply no way to do it--unless I did them with TNG era stats.

As for the scope, I started doing a NF one, then realized that there's enough other stuff tied in with it to add the SCE & DS9 stuff. That seemed like too much, true, but SCE isn't enough to merit its own book at this point. The DS9 relaunch could be its own; I'll have to look at the size of the whole thing, once written. (Yes, I have decided. There's enough interest to write this, so I am.) If I have to, I'll put the DS9 stuff in its own book, but it will still be released (at the same time, or soon after, the NF/SCE stuff).

Not just yes but hell yes I'd like to see it. When can you make it available.
You don't have to like it, you just have to do it .

When? Hmm...

I can probably have a testreading copy (if anyone's willing to testread) done by the end of next week. It all depends on the amount of homework I get this weekend & next week.

As for a final version, laid out all nice and purty, there's no way I can do that myself--I suck at artistic stuff. Anyone willing to volunteer?

Count me in for the test read. I am up to date with New Frontiers up until the second part of the 'Restoration triology', when I started getting annoyed with some of Peter Davids hack tendancies

And I am totally in line with the DS9 relaunch... So I should be able to give good feedback there.

SCE, however, I have not read yet, but would be happy to give it a good once over.

I would be interested as well. I haven't read the DS9 relaunch...Yet, I do have both books. I have read up to about book 4 of the NF, got annoyed little quicker then most...I still like the idea. SCE currently reading book I and throughly enjoying it, some of the best trek writting I've seen.

If you need any help, I give what I can.
