    Very nice work!

This is what I'll be using from now on. It has all the info I need in an easy-to-understand layout.

Two very minor nitpicks: Under 'Reactions', I believe that 'savvy' has been misspelled as 'saavy' (which had me misreading it as 'Saavik' at first, such a dam' trekkie). Also, by 'Attributes, Edges and Flaws' (above the lowest left-hand box) is it possible that you meant 'Abilities, Edges and Flaws'?

    Patiently waiting for page two...

Not so patiently waiting for the Gamemaster's Guide...

Actually, what would make me happy is not something that looked like LCARS or the computer interfaces on TOS, but a nice functional sheet that didn't have all the gee-gaws on it in the first place. They just get in the way for me.

This isn't a slam at anybody for their work; I just think the graphical extras are unnecessary. Maybe I'll shut up, put my money where my mouth is, and make my own in Publisher or something.

    A comment and a suggestion:

The Creation Guide sheet is fantastic! I encourage you to take another look and make sure everything's phrased as you intend it to be - everything looks okay at a glance.

Having made a one-page character sheet of my own (for those of you that remember it, it's radically changed again - LMK if I should post it, I had already caused such a ruckus about it!), I have a suggestion for you:

I once tried the Personal/Professional/Species split that you're using for skills. Upon creating a few characters, I found that this complicated occasions when, for example, a Personal package bonus added with a Professional skill bonus.

To compensate, I struck the package divisions and left about 18 blank spaces. It cost me a little space, but in place of the straight 'Lvl' column I split it into "Pers" and "Prof"; in addition, I left a large blank space for writing specialties, and in place of a Species section I left an additional space for Species-related specialties.

The end result (which I'm a bit too lazy to post) resulted in a more open character sheet that fills out more cleanly.

Good work so far - the best test of these things is to try using them!

I like the character sheet, although I saw one with the character's species skills as a seperate thing, nice touch...I think its under the "Borg Sheet" thread on this board. Its the only thing I could see as an improvement.

As for the cheat sheet, even though the player's guide tries to be as pro-Federation as possible, your sheet shouldn't be. Using your cheat sheet I made up a few Klingon Navy officers and a Romulan gunner just to annoy my players...using the SF Academy section you had. You could drop the "Starfleet" bit...and just call it "Military Service" or something to that effect.

    Otherwise...carry on, nice work...etc.

Dandelionhead : Yes, I know I didn't spellcheck it or anything. It worked in my head so it must have been perfect! As soon as I'm done with my Conx-GURPS charsheet, I'm going back to my trek sheet and fixing all the little differences. I'm sure it says Royale with Cheese in there somewhere. Attributes prolly comes from my GURPS mode.

PGoodman13 : Totally understand your point. Unfortunately for my players, I try to saturate their minds with the world they are playing, and if you're staring at a LCARS charsheet, it help, IMO. I'm looking forward to their faces when we go on field trips in Montreal for Tribe 8.

PogoOfGo : Actually I was of the understanding that when a Pro package adds to a personal devel skill, it becomes a Professional skills and thus should be moved to the Pro skill section (that's why it's tiny) I think that keeping the split will help with Advancement cost time wasting (of course we haven't had to deal with that yet because of a lack of GM guide). Anyhoo, that's my reason for the split. I have yet to run a chargen session with my group so it may change after I personally battletest it. I made a few chars myself and it seemed to work well.

For the Cheat Sheet, I know things may not be phrased properly, and may have some french tournures, if you have better ways to say what's on there, don't hesitate to msg me (on this board or email, i think I put it in my profile.) Grrr, stupid second language skills.

Darth Sarcastic : I see your point, I was actually planning on pulling a Mad Irishman and producing species specific sheets when the original template gets set in stone. The Starfleet Academy was more for my own use since I'm runnning my group through the academy before actually making them go where no one has gone before.

Again, thanks for the feedback all. I'm totally keeping everything in mind as I update the thing.

You don't have to make it look like a computer display.

For a TOS sheet why not just use a vertical-running version of the design on the NCC-1701 hull: A Starfleet insignia in the upper left corner of the page and below it two stripes running down the length of the page. Or maybe place the different branch insignia (Command, Engineering, medical) on the page border instead of the LCARS design.
Even a simple thing like that could go a long way to give the page more of a TOS look.

    rpgsheets.com

Might I suggest that all you guys creating character sheets for DecipherTrek upload them to http://www.rpgsheets.com . Right now, they have several FASA sheets and one for LUG Trek.

    Just a suggestion...

    Thumbs up

This is a very nice resource. Thank you. I would change very little--I like the layout and such. Once you get the kinks out you may want to consider a second, more generic, sheet for the non-Starfleet types.

    Again, excellent job.

Question: Would you guys prefer the status quo color scheme? (Solic black and 25% gray) or different shades of gray (darker / lighter gray)? I'm thinking it might help highlight the text but outside opinion would be nice

Don: Thanks a bunch Yes I am considering a more generic version, and a flurry of racial templates.

Different shades of grey would be nicer IMHO. And maybe reducing the size of the graphic block on the left could open things up a bit more.

    Post Fixed Character Sheets

Just updated the character and cheat sheets. I've also optimized them reducing the file weight to less than a third of what they used to be.

    Character Creation Cheat Sheet

    1 Page Character Sheet

A form version of the sheet is on its way after I tinker with the header some more

    Hope you find useful

    I hate to be a killjoy...maybe you've already noticed...

You've spelled Profession with a 't'. Otherwise its good. Perhaps a little more space is needed in the 'Reactions' area...ok, now I'm nitpicking. Sorry. I'll go away now.
