STAR TREK: STARBASE GUARDIAN and Episode 1 Idea!

Okay, my new series on a medical starbase in the tradition of M.A.S.H. has finally completed its tidying up in my brain, and here I go...

Its official designation is Medical Emergency Facility 3098, but in all but the most official uses, those on the front lines refer to it as STARBASE GUARDIAN- a place of miracles staffed by the "guardian angels." Being about as close to the front lines of the Dominion War as any Federation starbase can possibly get, they see the horror of war firsthand. Contrary to popular opinion, war in the twenty-fourth century is not clean and tidy just because it's fought with starships: The Guardian personnel see blood, brutality, and horrific killing almost every single day. But they hold out with hope, that someday peace will come.

    EPISODE ONE: "What You See"

Changeling infilitrator-induced paranoia is sweeping the front lines, and all personnel serving on the front are ordered to submit to blood screening- and Starbase Guardian is no exception. And in this case, it actually turns up a result- a recently arrived crewman is a a changeling. And this shapeshifter wants to defect to the Federation. And since this would be an invaluable asset to Starfleet Intelligence, you can bet that Dominion agents won't be far behind, seeking to silence the defector...

Please tell me what you think of either the series concept or the episode idea.

Well, since the Dominion's foot soldiers and field officers are all bred to be 100% loyal to the founders - sending them to kill/capture one should lead to some interesting angles.

Look how much trouble they had dealing with Odo. If the Vorta is convinced that this is a "rebel god" then perhaps the PC's can use that to manipulate the enemy.

Of course the founder who has come to "defect" isn't really going to defect is it?

    I mean why would they?
