Don't you people find the "Editeic memory" edge incredibly powerful, when compared to other edges ?
It gives a +2 on all academic rolls, whereas most other edges just give a +1 or a +2 on one skill....

Yup, same thing with "Thinker, Fit, and Friendly."
A flaw for sure that we made a few optional rules for.

Actually the latest of the home rules on that is as follows: "Eidetic Memory helps you recall information, not perform an actual test" If you need to recall a formula or something it is fine, but other than information recall it is not going to add +2 to anything. I might even boost the amount of the bonus because the scope of the edge has narrowed considerably.

I think it should just be the way it was originally intentioned in LUGTrek.
It allows you to make an unskilled attempt on any skill you have been exposed to. Basically, an attribute test.
That seems like a 1 point edge?

Fit has got to be the single most powerful edge in any game ever! I'm not exagerating (well maybe a little).
It gives you a bonus to: Agility, Perception, Strength and Vitality rolls; Stamina and quickness rolls; unarmed combat, armed combat, ranged combat, construct, repair, observe, investigate, use of sensors, transporters, ships weaponry and helm; not to mention the obvious skills like sport.

That's going a little over board isn't it. Why would something like Fit give you a bonus to Perception, ranged combat (phasers are the weapon of choice not bows or spears), construct, repair, observe, investigate, sensors, transporters, ship weapons and helm???? I find even quickness a little hard to see.Originally posted by Greg Smith

Since the only tests that are labeled as "Physical", "Academic", or "Social" are skill tests, it would be safe to assume that the Fit, Friendly, and Thinker Edges (as well as the Dim-Witted, Proud, and Reckless Flaws) only apply to skill tests.
Otherwise one could (with a great leap in logic) claim that Computer Use was a physical test as it requires physically interfacing with the console (sound waves are a physical phenomenon, right?).

Fit gives a bonus of +1 to all physical tests.
Table 8.2 (p100) lists all physical tests. Which include all those I listed plus a few more including First Aid, Forgery and Craft.
It's a bloody good edge!
