And just to be equally picky ( ), when they do meet the Ferengi (The Last Outpost?), Data proceeds to rattle off a pile of information about them - uber-capitalists, like the old 'Yankee Traders' etc.

So something is known about them (maybe from Archer, after all...hmmm...).

On a related note, what I find most annoying about what was done with the Ferengi is that they could have been really cool bad guys. They could have been ruthless pirates (in space) and (planetside) could have been the worst-of-the-worst in corporate greed and amorality.

    Oh well...

It's the same when you are stupid...

    Can't remember the exact set-up

    S.T. V: the Final Frontier

Kirk: Scotty, you're a lfe saver (Turns, then he Bones and Spock bolt down the access tunnel)

Scotty: (after turning, and starting to walk the other way) Twert nothing, I know this ship like the back of my hand...*PLANG!!!*-straight head-first into a pipe, then straight down to the floor. I laughed, re-wound, and laughed again.

    And, even the scene prior:
Kirk (while listening to some pinging sounds from a wall of the brig): Stand...Back...Stand Back??? STAND BACK!!! (bolts to the other side.)
*BOOOOM!!!* (Rear wall gets 'blowwed up real good')
Scotty (after the dust/smoke settles): Well, don't you recognize a jail-brake when ya' see one?!?
    Again, laugh, rewind, repeat
...and that's about the time it hit the fan...

    Truisms I know:
    1) Marvel is NOT better than DC (nor should EVERYTHING be ‘ULTIMITED’),
    2) D20 is NOT the best gaming system out there (nor should EVERYTHING be ‘crammed’ into it),
    3) And No matter how ‘THEY’ dress it up, Regardless of how ‘THEY’ title it, and even if ‘THEY’ say “BASED ON…”; “ENTERPRISE” IS NOT STAR TREK!!!
    4) 'Reality' T.V. ain't 'Real'

Met them face-to-face, yes. But they (the Ferengi) were mentioned in "Farpoint" a couple of times.

First Contact, with Riker talking to Troi in the bar. Can't remember the actual line but Troi is drunkenly complaining that we are wasting time talking about time when we don't have enough time.
    And Star Trek IV
Sulu: Keptin. We have found the nuclear wessel. And sir....It is Enterprise.

    Star Trek V.
Klingon Ambassador: You've done this before?
Sulu: Actually this will be my first time.
Then the look he gives Kirk.
    I think, therefore I...<BELLLLCCCHH> oops. ^_^

Michael, the "nuclear wessels" line was Chekov's, not Sulu's.
