    Actually, Don, we're using your sheet. LIke it a lot. Was gonna use this as a stopgap until you get your second sheet done, dude.
    "War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

    A question from Roy, in France -

    Cool, so have you started a group for playing the ST RPG over there?

    Don, originally I used Patrick Murphy's sheet as the base for the Spanish versions of his sheets. I did the same Roy did, from scratch. I put an extensive disclaimer on the sheet saying mine was a modification, based on the original Patrick Murphy's work. Even though it was never to be distributed over the net! Could there be an arrangement of these sorts?

    And, second, Don... they guy's obviously French and you go nitpicking his language. I know you recognize this in your post, but nevertheless your intention 'seems' harsh. As Roy's seemed 'harsh' to you. Remember, this is the 'net. How can you judge the actual attitude?

    And, even when he made a possible copyright infraction, that doesn't allow you to disauthorize him so harshly. Or do it by email.

    I understand your position but I'm somewhat appalled by your attitude, Don.

    My 2 cents.

    Sorry if anyone was offended.

    BTW, demander in French means asking, making a petition. Direct translations are prone to these misunderstandings.

    Well ... on Don's behalf, it'd sure have been nicer from Roy if he had asked before (asking seems to be kind of traditional here, but maybe it isn't on other boards) ... somehow I was already cringing in anticipation when I first saw the sheet .
    Frankly, I have never seen a satisfactory explanation as to why on internet everyone seems to misunderstand each other and always assume the worse from the other's statements ... anyway, what I was trying to say was that there was obviously no ill intention from neither side, so it'd be too bad to get all worked up about it. I mean, what with Roy being new to the boards and Don working as much as he does for our community ...

    errr ... well, that's all ... all right, nothing to see here, don't you have anything else to do?

    You're right about that one Dr., in English "demand" is much stronger ... something like:
    Fr.demander = Eng.ask
    Eng.demand = Fr.exiger
    Strange how words evolve, isn't it?

    CharSheet Back

    hi,

    The links of the first post are working again. I made a new original design for the sheets (as far as a LCARS based sheet could be "original"). The font used is always Swiss 911, but, this time, it's incorporated to the file. However, if you don't have it, you could not use the form, just print. The Swiss font is copyrighted, but foundable on the net. I'm looking for an other font with a similar design, but free. If someone have an idea...

    Please, feel free to comment.

    I have a group to play ST RPG since the ICON system was available here, couple of years ago.

    We not yet played with the CODA system, just translated the characters (Don's method works nice).

    Roy,
    I tried your link, but I couldn't download the sheet.
    Do you have any idea why that would be?
    If I'm just doing something stupid, perhaps you could e-mail it to me...

    Thank you - I'm looking forward to seeing your work!

    Whatever. Read the first page again. I was very polite and made consideration for English not being his native tongue.

    I made no demands or petitions--I made a polite request which is a matter of public record on the first page. I never chastised him, threatened, or took any other actions. I left it entirely to him to do the right thing. Christ, he even misspelled my name when providing 'credit' for his clearly derivative work.

    And I'm somehow the bad guy here? Sometimes you people amaze me. You really do.

    As we agree in the core of the subject and differ in nuances, I apologize, Don. Sorry I offended you.
