Enterprise - "Two Days and Two Nights"

Time to Rate The Episode once again!

What can I say... I LOVED THIS EPISODE. There was almost no physical "action"- fight scenes etc. but there was a bit of supense and the best character development of any ENT episode, period. This episode revealed the characters and personality at their best. My personal favorite part of the episode was... Hoshi's first romance (finally!)
    I gave it a perfect 10.

I like the fact that it left me wondering who that lady was (I will not say any more in case some of you haven't seen the show) and when we'll see her again.
It didn't have me on the edge of my seat, but I enjoyed it none the less.

    Above average...

I gave this an above average rating of "7".

Generally, I've liked the episodes later in the season better than those earlier.

    What I liked:

    - Archer wasn't a moron. I'd better not say more, but sometimes, the Trek writers have crafted episodes that more or less depend on the characters being slow on the uptake. That sort of plot generally doesn't interest me.

    - Continued development, effects from a previous episode are felt in this episode. Hints that actions from that previous episode may have repercussions.

    - Hoshi finally gets a chance to unwind and have fun! I found the scenes with her to be well written and acted.

    - I found Phlox's scenes amusing. Billingsley did a good job with them, and they added some lightheartedness to an episode that was supposed to be about having fun.

    - The contrasts between what people hoped would happen, and what actually happened were amusing.

    What I didn't like:

    - Reed and Trip's encounter is an example of character's being written stupidly. They should have been smarter than they were in that situation.

    - Blalock still seems to think repressed emotions means speak in a monotone. She's a fairly week link everywhere except looks (thanks to the ads that have been running, I've seen what she looks like without the wig. I think the comments people have reported with the shape of her head are caused by her stuffing all that hair up under the wig, as someone speculated).

    Apropos of Nothing:

    - Blalock and Trinneer really don't seem to have much respect for their fans, do they? I'm talking about the ads they've done for the "fan pick" episode and for Startrek.net. Their pitches leave me cold. That's not a problem with the episode, I just figured I'd throw it in.

    NITPICK ALERT!

The only problem I had was when Archer went out on the boat "after sunset". Take a look at the backdrop of that scene. It was already after sunset! They missed the boat.

That said, I loved Hoshi's linguistic skill & Trip & Malcom's reactions to the dopplegangers.

9 out of 10 on a very small nitpick!

    Arrow

Failry typical cast goes on vacation TV episode. I kew one would seek personal fulfilment and that one was obvious Travis and his "rock climbing" (if the rock moves would it not be a life form?) one would be dupped at first I thought Hoshi was going to be the one but was surprised when it was Archer. Tucker and Malcum had a perfect sailor on shore leave expierence. The Doctor was great! we knew he would be disturbed but the resolution was handled very good.

I gave a 6 for a perdicatable situation but a well carried and thought out resolution.

But that Pon Far comment has me really in pain! I am OK with the loose play showed so far towards the vulcans but this was one aspect that should have been respected!

Gave it a four. I laughed my butt off at the doctor coming out of hibernation. Trip and Malcolm looking like they belonged on "Miami Vice" was kinda neat but seeing them trying to get out of a wine cellar was a little uneven.

The Hoshi plotline was ok... Some chemistry there. The Archer one... I'm not sure... the interaction there just didn't quite work for me but I'm interested to see what comes of it.

I liked it. Porthos still shines as the best cast member...

Best stuff: the continuing storyline. I agree that the effects of their previous journeys on the present episodes is refreshing.

Phlox was great. WE laughed our asses off.

Bakula was better in this episodes than he has been through the season. Didn't like the chick. Hated her dog; Portos shoulda taken her out in the first scene.

Trip & Reed...like we didn't know these two goofballs would be the one who DIDN'T get laid. Apparently, Trip is destined to live in just underwear.

The smiling helmsman...he's the new Chekov. "Captain, look! Aaaaaah!!!!"

Hoshi. Still don't like the character much.

Overall, pretty good. Still prefer the Andorian eps to most of the season. But it's improving steadily.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

    boring

I was quite bored throughout the episode.
The story was run-of-the-mill, as was the execution. While I did enjoy Phlox's scenes, the rest wasn't terribly interesting or engaging.
The episode just plodded along, with no real insights into the over-all story-arc. At least nothing we didn't already know. And little to no plot to speak of.

Let's hope the season finale will be more fun, and Enterprise starts to actually pick up some steam next season.

It seems to me that the writers are actually afraid of telling stories. Or at least telling them too quickly. The opening of 2001 was quicker and more to the point than the suliban-storyline in S1.
No power in the 'verse can stop me.
