    Starship Conversion Icon -> Coda

    So what is the likelyhood of getting a conversion system from the ICON system to the CODA system? I've just downloaded the wonderful Starship Recognition Manuals and realised they have their stats in the ICON system (or at least I assume so).

    Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Rainier

    The SRMs are not in Icon format -- they're in Spacedock format. To see more about Spacedock, download the Spacedock construction rules located on this site where you downloaded the SRMs.

    Spacedock goes to a level of detail that you may or may not want to use in your RPG. As such, there is no Spacedock to Coda conversion that I know of, nor do I think its really necessary--one can make a Coda ship in less than 5 minutes.

    Oh, and welcome!

    Re: Conversions

    Okay. Seems logical. I was operating under the assumption that the SpaceDock rules had been released as compatible to the ICON rules.

    Knowing that they are different than both sets of rules is even better. I'll just chuck them in to my write-ups, etc. And compare what comes out of both systems.

    Thanks again,

    Trog --

    If you jump over to the Coda Utopia Planitia site, you'll find a bunch of threads dealing with ships out of the SRMs. You may have to dig a little bit (there are a few pages of threads), but there are many different takes on the various TNG-era ships.

    I, personally, have converted all of the Spacedock Starfleet SRM ships that weren't covered in the NG. You can find most of them in the "Starfleet, 23xx-23xx" threads. I included my Miranda and Excelsior writeups in a "23rd Century Starfleet" thread (most of the ships in that thread are from the FASA SRM).

    Any suggestions on how one might use the Spacedock rules within a CODA game (thus replacing the CODA rules for ships)?

    And on that note....

    I'm new to the Coda system. Will they be releasing their own Starship Combat game at any time down the road ?

    Thanks
