Several species have the species ability "Bonus Edge: Psionic" giving them a Psi score straight off. Unfortunately, this makes every member of a Psionic race equally powerful (even young psi races or "rediscovered power" races like the Ocampa) straight out of creation.
The way i would change this is to have Psionic species assign attribute values to the Psi stat along with the normal 6.
- Using the random method, simply roll 10 sets of dice and drop the three lowest scores.
- Using the pick method, give players an extra "4" to work with.
However, any character taking the Psionic Edge without being "born" with it, will get Psi 4 as normal.
This is gonna be a house rule in my game. Do with it what you will.
