CHARACTER GENERATION
—————————————————————
Rules: Decipher's Star Trek RPG <http://www.decipher.com/startrek/rpg/>. Characters can be created using LUG Trek rules and can be converted over to Decipher Trek using the CODA Conversion Excel spread sheet. (I have a copy and will convert any characters over for you.)
* No Cardassians, Romulans, or Delta Quadrant races.
* Please no half-breeds (too messy).
* Trills need not be Joined with a symbiont. Use d4-1 to determine the number of previous hosts, 0 being unjoined.
* Start your character as Ensign grade. For positions with rank above Ensign, the XP provided must go toward promotion edges for that position. For example, Team Leader gets 3000 XP. That gives 15 advancement picks (page 152). 6 of those go toward promotion edges to advancement to LCDR. The rest go for any thing else.
* Ensigns will be assigned directly from the Academy with no post-Academy experience. Lieutenant Junior Grade and Lieutenant Commander characters will start with the experience points (and advancement picks) as described above and can be spent as desired.
* Each LTJG and LCDR character should give background info at least two paragraphs for each ship assignment in character's history. All characters should have at least two paragraphs of background/personality information.
* Use "pick" option for character ability (Page 81) or use <http://www.irony.com/mailroll.html> (2 die, 6 sides, no mods, no drops, 9 times) to roll random numbers.
The Narrator will review and select a crew based on backgrounds and species dynamics. NPCs will be made available for the Sciences and Medical positions if no submissions are received.
Characters not selected may become NPC's for the Narrator to use, with the submitter's permission.
My initial idea was for players to submit two characters so to get a mix. As I have received <zero> submissions, I've decided to reduce the request for two submissions down to just one.
That or else no one likes the campaign concept. If that is the case, could someone please email me and like to know what is bad or disliked about it?
I changed the character gen section to allow for creating characters with LUGTrek rules and I will use the CODA Conversion Excel sheet (graciously made available on this forum) to convert the character over to DecTrek rules.
