    Profession

I am planning to do a test run of the game with my players in a few weeks. I want them to get used to the new rules and character creation before starting our real campaign.

The test run was going to be setup in the TOS era. They are colonist that settle a planet close to the tholians and either get crushed or captured by the tholians.

What profession would I use for the colonist? I picture my 3 players like this:
    One is the colony leader
One is the colony machine fixer upper (engineering sort)
    One is the colony doctor/vet
    (can you picture a kirk/spock/bones? )

(PS: My real campign will be along the tholian border in the TNG/DS9 era )

Is the leader a bureaucrat or civil servant type? Then he'd be a Diplomat. If he was a "captain of the guard" sort of character, I would suggest Soldier.

For the engineer-type, I'd suggest either a Scientist or a retired Starship Engineer.

The doctor's the easiest one to quatify. Sicentist all the way! (one of thre Scientist's Professional Development packages is "Medical Doctor"...)
