    Question Movie Era Help!

    Okay this is strange...

I just found out that in three days time, I’m going to be running a Trek game, probably in the Movie-Era. So, aside from making characters and developing the framework of my campaign I’ve got a lot of work to do.

Any resources out there, aside from those here at TrekRPGNet, for running Icon in the Movie-Era?

Any help appreciated, as I’m pressed for time. Suggestions welcome.

I don't know any interesting resources other than our own fine Trek RPG Net here and www.startrek.com - I find the official site always inspirational. Try browse through the various libray sections.

Would you be interested in a major plot seed for my own campaign ?

For ICON resources, I can't think of any movie era stuff outside of trekrpg.net.

For non-gaming stuff, there's quite a bit to be found, but I'm not certain if that's what your looking for. I'd probably use stuff found in both TNG and classic Film Series eras, like Miranda-class, Klingon Bird of Prey, etc.

I am now starting a Movie Era Campaign on my own, set in 2286. Well first of all the movies can be resources and you'll find some stuff about that time in the Price of freedom sourcebook, e.g. the Miranda Class.
Actually not that much differs from the TNG series. The uniform looks different and technology is a bit less advanced, but I plan to play it basicly as any TNG campaign, exploring planets, and fighting any threats wich mnight occur. Actually you have much more freedom in this era, as not that much is known about it. You could e.g. create and alien race which threatens the UFP and so have a large scale war/ conflict. Additionally the Romulans and Klingons are still enemies and are good for some nice adventures.
By the way you'll find my Movie Era character with a sketch in the Star Trek section under PC's of my homepage. In the same section there is a Movie-Era character sheet, so you can take alook at it ( I believe already the charactersheet makes the atmosphere for a campaign ). You'll find my page at www.nav.to/emperorsarm.
Unfortunately I have some html problems at the moment, so the index page might be a bit confusing, but I think you'll find the Star Trek Area.

By the way, there are sevral changes concerning the technology in the movie era. I bought the TOS Corebook, conerning that. there are the ships, and the phasers and the like. As I do not like the Phaser rifle of TOS, I made one on my own.

    Thumbs up

I looked at Evan's character sheet, and I like it. Some of his house rules are pretty good, too.

Suggestion Evan: for the red uniform movie era, perhaps a place to put the funky rank insignia and maybe department-based coloring?

I think about it and try to find some space for it qerlin. But the problem is, I found something about the Ranks Insignia, but where do i get something for the Colours.
I know white - command, blue - science, but there are grey uniforms and yellow ones and e.g. Sulu wears a yellow one in the PC Starfleet Acadamy, although he is head of command School ( one should assume that he belongs to the command branch ) and says he later will take command of the U.S.S. Excelsior, which makes him command branch doesn't it?
so what about the colors, do you know any good sources?

    The Star Trek fact files listed them a while back. I dont have the issue here at work, but if I remember Correctly;

Red - Cadets and Junior Officers
    White - Command
Yellow - Conn and Bridge Officers
    Olive Green - Medical
    Grey - Security

Thats where it gets VERY hazy... I cant remember the details, but will get them posted ASAP, unless someone else does...

No problem, Evan. The colors are as follows:

    command -- white
    sciences -- sky blue
    services (engineering, security) -- yellow
    medical -- olive green
    operations -- grey
    cadet -- red
there's no colors canon for intelligence, but i'd keep the green-gray from the pat murphy tng forms.

If you need the rank insignia pics, i've got 'em.

Another suggestion would be to cut the skills lists down to two columns, instead of three; makes it easier to write the stuff in if the collumns themselves were a bit longer/bigger.

    Unhappy

Thanks qerlin. The pics wpuld be great, thank you.
I decided to use three colums because I always had to less space for my skills. But as I no will redesign the sheet, there will be more space for each single skill entry.
By the way, my page has somehow vanished due to fortunecity so at the moment you might not find it.
