    USS Archernar

Based heavily on the 'Phase II' Enterprise design, along with some tweaking from the fan-created USS Monoceros warp engine.

When I spec her up, I'm likely going to split some differences between a typical Connie and Connie-refit, though a lot of the rule-books don't seem all that conducive to such a thing. Right now, though, I need to pick which book I'm going to start with.. FASA, ICON, or CODA... heh.

I've never seen the Phase II design, but I'd be inclined to make some of the other curves more like that line on the top of the nacelle, in the sense of "humps" and straight lines. The lower curve of the secondary hull for instance, could basically mirror the nacelle line. The primary hull "bubbles" might also be more flat with angular edges to the main dish.

I'm hesistant to change too much of the design, because this one's based on a 'real' ship, the design for the ill-fated 'Star Trek: Phase II' series. That Enterprise had most of the same lines as the Connie, but with a more 'modern' look for the warp engines and better model detailing.

I did use a different warp engine, though, keeping with the theme that I was shooting for. The engine is from the popular Monoceros class from the 'Silhouette Chart'.

Phase II refers to the plans to make a second series or spinoff based around a modified Constitution-class and most of the original cast of TOS. It was to represent a second five-year mission for the Starship Enterprise and her crew. Instead, the pilot was modified to create The Motion Picture.
