    Challenge

One of my players wanted to make an interstellar entertainer who has a gig on Paradise Station.

I said yes, and then went to the book.

I realize that there is no basic career + development+elite that could make someone who is just an entertainer. Sure she could have been an ex spy or a rogue or anyother combination, but no basic Entertainer.

So I put forth this challenge to all the CODA experts out there, let's build an Entertainer career, along with developments and elite professions

What do you say? Got the poogees?

Do I want to know what poogees are?

Actually I'd use the Merchant profession as a starting place and then tweak it...the profession not the poogees...

Old BattleStar Galactica slang. I thought I was the only one who used that saying.

Okay so I got my copy of the Narrator's Guide today and in the back there is an NPC template for an Entertainer.

I think I will use this as the basis for designing a full blown PC Career path

    Stay tunned.

    Gotta learn the rules first

    Got the Guide?!

Wait a minute, Aslan! You glossed over the really alarming part of your post!

Where'd you get the NG? I can't find it (or evidence of its existence) anywhere! (The same was true, locally, of the PG until the day it was out, I should say.)

I used to work in the RPG/CCG distribution business

    I kept my contacts.

I guess the old adage is true, sometimes it really is who you know.

Now that aside, I hope when you all get your copies you will be willing to help make the "Entertainer" professional career

OT -- It's pogees, with a long-o sound (for those of you not famililar with BG slang. Being a mere 10 years old when it aired, BG curses became an integral part of my vocab. My co-workers frequently hear the "frack!" coming from my vicinity.

Well all this feldercarb is so off topic it makes me think you all have been sniffing plant vapors

That said, I have never seen the word written, so I apologize for using an extra "o"

That said... it would bee Poo (as in poop) with the extra "o" so pogees would be correct.

Wow I can't spell in make believe either.

Now back to the topic at hand.

What kind of special abilites and elite professions would an entertainer have?

I could see elite professions being...

    Recording artist/Muscian
    Famous Actor
    Professional Dancer
    etc...

So should I assume that no one feels this career has any merit then?

    Just asking...

Just hang in there Aslan, we just got detoured to Sillyville for a while. I do think there's merit in the endeavour, I just want to give a thought.

Personally, I think a slight alteration of the Rogue would do the trick...
What kind of entertainer are we talking about here?

See I have to disagree with that idea (Rogue). I mean what does a concert violinist have in common with a Rogue?

I am not looking to make a bard, which I think is the trap.

The idea pitched is a Femme Fatale Torch Singer. She may have a little streetsmarts, but I don't think she would be that close to a rogue.

Hmm... after looking again, methinks you may be right.

    some Prof. Abilities
Reading the Audience (some sort of observe test bonus?)
Stunning Talent (like con artist for rogue, only for entertain tests)
