    Larson-class Destroyer

Here's a ship that I hope to use in a possible up coming on line game.

    Larson -Class Specifications MKI

    Production Data
    Origin: UFP
    Class/Type: Larson-Class Destroyer
    Year Launched: 2255

    Hull Data
    Structure 25
    Size/Decks: 4/9 Decks
    Length/Beam/Height 145m/30m/49m
    Complement: 90/22/270
    36 Officers
    54 Enlisted

    Operational Data
    Transporters: 2 standard, 2 cargo, 4 emergency
    Cargo Units: 40
    Shuttlebay: 1 ad
    Shuttlecraft: 2 (size 2)
Tractor Beams: 1 fv, 1 av
    Seperation System: No
    Sensor System: Class II (+2/C)
    Operations System: Class III (D)
    Life Support: Class III (D)

    Propulsion Data
Impulse System: Type III (.6c) (B)
Warp Systems: Type VI (6/7/8) (D)

    Tactical Data
    Phaser Arrays: Type V (x3/B)
    Penetration: 4/4/4/0/0
    Deflector Shield: Class IIa (B)
    Protection/Threshold: 13/3

    Miscellaneous Data
    Manuever Modifiers: +1C, +1H, +2T
Traits: (for USS Cerberus only) Battle Tested, Battle Scarred

    Ships/Records:
USS Larson, Prototype; USS Cerberus NCC 1971.

I will post this section once I get the campaign history nailed down.

As always comments (constructive ones anyway) welcome. I really like the ship system in this new RPG. Alot simpler then SD (no offense, but a 3-4 page ship sheet is extreme to say the least.) And still has the detail that I like.

Nice looking ship Phantom! One of my favs.

    Good work.

I agree, I love the new desing system, it was what I wanted for ICON but got SD instead which went way over my head

Well I have always liked the Chandely (?) and the Andor-classes. They could probably make an appearance in the Movie era part of my campaign.

I always liked the Larsons. Can't wait to get the bleedin' NG so I can see what the numbers mean.

Hey that's pretty nice Phantom. it could also conceivably pass as the Saladin class destroyer, a la Franz Josef.

I know I originally opened this thread for my Larson conversion, but to save space here on the boards anyone who has an idea for a favoured conversion please post it here. I'd like to see others ideas and I have a few more.

Once I get my decipher Trek books I'll be glad to help out with the FASA ship conversions. The Old FASA game hada lot of neat designs. some lemons too but a lot of neat designs.

    Dang! I wanted that one

Seriously, I'll be interested to see your take Aslan. I'm planning on using it in my game, although I'm tempted to seriously scale it down in size.

    Ok, I'll call dibs on a movie-era Miranda/Reliant...

Nice looking ship, Phantom. What conversion formula did you use for converting this FASA ship? I've got a couple of FASA-era ships I'd like to convert for my players. Thanks.

I just had an idea of how I wanted the ship to look. I used the size and weapon info from the ICON stats in the Computer Core. Other then that I followed the rules in the NG.

I've always like the way the larson looked. It has a compact feel to it. Unfortunately, I have no idea about its history. Anyone care to fill me in?

The Larson is a FASA creation, and part of their concept of a core group of ships that were launched at about the same time (mid-2240s). These included the Constitution-class heavy cruiser, Locknar-class frigate, Nelson-class scout, and Anton-class cruiser.

All of these ships led the way for the Federation's expansion in the 2240s and 50s. They served in the Axanar Rebellion (of course, according to FASA, the AR was called the Four Years' War...fought against the Klingons and the Axanari), and in several actions against the Klingons.

FASA's listing of the ship shows three major refits, but I'd expect that the Phantom's version Larson was never refit, simply superceded by the Baker (2272 launch) and Wilkerson (2274 launch). I would say that the Larsons would have been phased out by 2280 or so.

Personally, I would have launched the Larson in 2245 (instead of 55), and given it a refit in the mid-2260s before phasing it out in the late 70s.
