Is it still the case that the Andorian state is traditionally referred to as the Andorian Star Empire? I know that was a FASA thing, but ISTR that ICON kept the reference.

Well, it wasn't mentioned in LUGs Among the Clans. I suppose that an Andorian might consider the amount of galactic real estate that the Andorians control an Empire. They are a powerful race, the ADF has been compared to SF (only smaller), according to LUG they controlled 13 (I thinkk) systems, and many of the frieghters plying Federation cargo lanes were registered out of Andoria...Because they protect their own.
I personally don't use it, but I could see it.

The only references I recall were of the "Romulan Star Empire." I don't remember seeing anything like that referring to the Andorians.
But, like Phantom says it's feasible that the Andorians consider their controlled space an "empire."
