    Question Buying Shield Threshold

Okay, it's entirely possible I might have missed this. Wouldn't be the first time.

On NG page 142, under "Deflector Shields," it says that you can buy additional shield threshold at an additional cost. I can't see where it states what that additional cost is. If this has been discussed somewhere, could someone give me a pointer? Heck, even if it hasn't, can someone give me a pointer?

    Thanks.

Somewhere else in that same paragraph (I think) it says that you get an additional +1 shield threshold for every (1) point you spend.

i.e. I have a base S.T. of 1. I want to raise it to its maximum...for arguments sake 3. It costs me 2 additional points to get it there.

I hope I've helped and entertained.

Been using the same thing as Darth
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Makes sense, and that's what I'll use to design the De Falco, but I'd love an official answer so I'll know if I'm mucking it up....

The Dark Lord of the Quip is correct, Patrick. 1 Threshold per 1 space.

That's Dark Lord of the Sarcastic...you don't have to stand corected...you can sit. I do hope that Decipher re-vamps the Ship Construction stuff for the purpose of clarity.

Hye, I was just going in the spirit of "Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith", and figured that quips, by their very nature, are sarcastic and well...

You mean Darth "Wesley Crusher" Vader? Explain this to me...how does a whiny schmuck putz brat become one of the best bad guys in the Sci-Fi-verse? First one to say "...well that's how George Lucas wrote it..." gets EM-pulsed (hum of generator in background).

But since you explained it so well Doug, then its ok by me...like you need my permission or something... Now to get back to re-writting the Starship Construction Rules

"Dark Lord of the Quip" does flow better than "Dark Lord of the Sarcastic," Your Darkness.

I said "...bwahahahahaha!!!" and I stand by it. That's evil laughter for those who thought I was crying in spilt warp plasma. Ok, I'm sure you have better things to do 'round here than give yourselves headaches over a moniker. It started out as an amusing joke between myself and Doug (at least I thought so) that has already escalated from the Sarcastic to the plain idiotic. I am therefore going back to working on my redesign of the Ship Construction system and will not entertain anymore messages about "...Dark Lord of the Quip(s)..." "...Dark Lord of the Schmucks..." "...Dork Lard of the Overweight..." or anyother drivel of that nature...because at this point it is drivel. Call me whatever floats your boat(s) and let's leave it at that thank you.
