    DS9 relaunch characters

Has anyone tried to make some NPC's out of the new DS9 relaunch characters i.e. Vaughn, ch'Thane, Taran'atar, Ro, Treir, Tenmei or Bowers?

It is ripe full of roleplaying goodness; unfortunately, I left my PG at my grandmother's house and don't have access to it, and I don't have the NG yet, so I can't even try...

    Anyone else try?

I have no idea of what DS9 Relaunch characters you are talking about, so I cannot help you.
But you definitively interested me, as DS9 is my favorite series. Where can I learn more about that relaunch? is it only RPG developed material (I am completely new to STRPG, and I know nothing of the books and system prior to Decipher's CODA), or is it a relaunch of the TV series with new actors and new story arc?
Any details you could provide me will be greatky appreciated. Thank you.

The DS9 Relaunch was a series of books set on DS9 after the end of the series. They introduced some new characters (some newer than others) including Lt. Ro Laren (from TNG) as Security Chief, Commander Elias Vaughn as first officer, Andorian Lt. ch'Thane as science officer, and tame Jem'Hadar Taran'atar who was sent by Odo to serve Kira (long story...).

In all, I found the books enjoyable. If you like Trek fiction, I highly recommend them.

I know I will look stupid to ask, because I am almost sure of the answer, but I want to be completely certain that I understood correctly. When you said "book", you meant "novel", not "RPG sourcebook", didn't you?
In either case, would you mind giving me the ISBN number or a website (with international sending capabilities) where I can order it, provided they are still in print.
    Thank you again.

Glad to oblige on the ISBNs... here they are in order of publication:

    ST: DS9: Avatar Book 1: 074340050X
    ST: DS9: Avatar Book 2: 0743400518
    ST: DS9: Section 31 Abyss: 0671774832
ST: DS9: Gateways Book 4: Demons of Air and Darkness: 0743418522

I got all of these off Amazon, and I see them all in decent quantity in bookstores.

I should probably point out that Elias Vaughn, the new XO, makes an appearance in the recently released Next Gen book, "Battle of Betazed."

Also the latter two books take place in one of the multi-crossover theme series Pocket Books usually does. "Abyss," however, stands on its own as a continuation of "Avatar" in all respects. "Demons of Air and Darkness" does to a point, but the cliffhanger ending isn't resolved until the "Gateways: What Lays Beyond" conclusion book.

I've actually been keeping up with these and used post-TV DS9 as a base for Rapid Response series I ran not too long ago.

The characters also make an appearance in Wildstorm Comics "Divided, we Fall" comic book.

Good comic series, exp if you have Trill characters running around since it affects them the most. Basicly a rebel faction of trill come up with a plauge to destroy the sybiants(sp)

In which case, Diplomatic Implausibility, and the other forthcoming JG Hertzler Klingon Books will also count in the relaunch, but will likely be non-canon shortly depending on what they do with Worf in the next movie...
