    Ambassador Class

Here is my take on the Ambassador class.

    Ambassador Class
    Production Data
    Origin: United Federation of Planets
Class and Type: Ambassador-class Exploratory Cruiser
    Year Launched: 2322
    Hull Data
    Structure: 40
    96 Size/Decks: 8/40 decks
    Length/Height/Beam: 526/325/160 meters
    Complement: 900
    Operational Data
    Atmosphere Capable: No
    -1 Transporters: 8 standard, 8 emergency, 8 Cargo
    Cargo Units: 80
    -4 Shuttlebay: 1 a stardrive, 1 a saucer
    Shuttlecraft: 16 Size worth
    -1 Tractor Beams: 1 fv, 1 av
-1 Separation System: Yes (emergency only)
    Cloaking Device: No
    -3 Sensor System: Class 3 (+3/D)
    -8 Operations System: Class 4 (E)
    -8 Life Support: Class 4 (E)
    Propulsion Data
    -5 Impulse System: Class 6 (.9c) (D)
    -6 Warp System: Class 7.2 (Warp 6/8/9.2) (C)
    Tactical Data
-30 Phaser Banks: Type IX (x5/D)
    Penetration: 6/6/6/0/0
    -8 Photon Torpedoes: Type V (x2/D)
    Penetration: 4/4/4/4/4
    -11 Defector Shield: Class 5 (C)
    Protection/Threshold: 15/3
    Miscellaneous Data
    Maneuver Modifiers: +3 C, -2 H, +4 T
Traits: Small for size (-5 space)
    10 Space left

The addition of a third shuttle bay on the underside of the fantail seems to be a standard up grade for this class. I would think that class 4 sensors would be one too.

Traits: Small for size (-5 space) I made this one up from compairing models of the two ships. The Ambassador just doesn't have the volume that a Galaxy does, but it is way bigger than an Excelisior. So I figured it was Size 8 but a little small for it's size class.

Close to what I came up with.

I think the small for size thing should go; if you think it should be smaller, go with a size 7. There's a size RANGE for each size.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
