    San Francisco frigate

    Hello , I hope everyone is doing well. A short time someone ask about writing stats for ships from Star Fleet Museum. . http://www.starfleet-museum.org/ . This is the best site I found so far on the website for star trek ships . The images are great to look at and back ground texts is great to read. I wrote up one for a game I want to run in the near future . The time frame is set T.O.S. . I look forward for any feed back on the San Francisco class frigate. I know that this ship may have flaws , but who wants the perfect ship in role playing .

    Class San Francisco frigate
    Production date = 2240 to 2250
    Size/ deck 6 / 4 decks
    Crew = 75 to 100
    Length / height / beam = 120 m / 75 m / 40 m

    Transporter = 2 personal / 2 cargo / 2 Back up
    Cargo = 3 bays
    Shuffle bay = one midship
    Shuttle cap= 3 size
    Tractor beams = midship
    Sensor = class one +1/0/0/0/0
    Operation System = B
    Life Support = B

    Impulse Drive .6 c
    Warp Drive 3/4/6
    Maneuver = 0 command, +2 helm , +2 tactic

    Tactical
    Phaser class 4 x 2 ( one aft, and one forward ) 3/3/2/0/0
    Photon Torps class 1 x 2 both forward 3/3/3/3/0

    The Star Fleet Design Division want a frigate class vessel , that could be produced at any ship yard . The San Francisco Frigate was the first to be build. Many Federation member planets want to build them for Star Fleet . Many members wanted the able to build military vessel just in case .

    The driving force behind this new concept in design was do to rumors of Klingon / Roluman alliance. The idea of invasion from dual fronts would force Star Fleet to split the fleet. Many Admirals thought the first year of this type of war would be stalemate . The second year would start to force withdraw to core worlds as ship loses out passed replacements. This simple design produced in many ship yards could solve the huge numbers invading ships .

    Hi toadmage, welcome to the circus!

    First thoughts - what size is it exactly? You say 6, but many of the other figures (shuttle bay, physical dimensions, transporters) imply 3, 4 or 5! Personally, 6 seems a little high for a frigate (and is outside the allowed range for all but the heavy variant).

    It's obviously an early vessel, which I like, but you might want to look at upgrading the sensor suite and possibly the warp drive!

    One thing I notice looking back at the Starfleet Museum (that and the EAS yards are my favourite sites ), is that the San Francisco is actually a 22nd century ship from the Romulan War. Were you just taking the picture and coming up with your own stats and info? No problem if you are, I'm just curious!

    This ship design stuff is fun, isn't it?

    I started at size 5 , but later moved up to size 6 . I saw the picture listed under project preview and was not sure about the time frame.

    I want the ship to be a early 23rd century ship design. I think I needed to re-read the guide lines for ship construction. I want a ship with some fire power , but not a death star . I am off thurday ( 6/20) , I will have time to rework it . Thanks for the feed back.

    I think firepower-wise, it's fine, just needs a little tweaking is all!

    It's one of the vessels from the EAS Fleet Yards originally (elsewhere on the same site) - check
    this page and you'll find a formal (if brief) history for it.

    That doesn't mean you have to follow it though - none of it's canon!

    The EAS Fleet Yards is a superb source for alternative ship designs - I highly recommend it

    second try

    Hi Imagus , You are right I was just looking at the image . Thanks for the other link . I read the ship construction guide lines . I messed in the I used structure in place of space . I wrote up the ship thinking I had 25 space not 65 . Here is the second try at it. I added a separation system . The forward part of the vessel can act as life boat. I may rewrite background text . I am not saying that the other background text is bad. I just want to be 23 century ship .
