I’ve been trying to figure out the Galaxy-Class from the NG. I wanted to see how everything was spent. I think, of all starships, we know the most about what the Galaxy-Class can do. It is kind of a baseline for all other 24th century ships.

Anyway, I’ve made a few observations and I wanted to some feedback:

1. The Galaxy-Class sacrifices 5 structure points for 5 more space points. This makes sense, since the Galaxy-Class was made for Exploration during relative peaceful times. It was not optimized for combat.

2. According to my calculations, the Galaxy-Class spends 6 points on its Class-7 Impulse Engines. When the saucer separates, the implication of the specs is that both separated parts of the ship now have Class 7 Impulse Engines. Is this how separation rules work for Impulse Drives?
