    Pictures

First off, let me say that, "I Love the Starships book". Okay, now that I've got the well-deserved praise out of the way, I shall launch into a flurry of nit-picking Hopefully this will be helpful to the good people of Decipher (and anyone else reading).

pp. 96-99, the Talon class. The drawn pictures don't seem to match the actual photo of the ship.

pp. 104-107: ditto for the Altair class

pp. 152-153, the Galor class. The drawn photo depicts a Keldon class ship while the actual photo shows a Galor class.

pp. 156-157, the Keldon class. The drawn photo depicts a Keldon class ship while the actual photo shows a Galor class.

pp. 188-191, the Jem'Hadar Warship. The stats and the actual photo depict a Jem'Hadar Warship, but the drawn photos seem to depict the much larger Jem'Hadar Battleship (the one described in the episode "Valiant") as twice the size of a Galaxy class ship and three times as powerful.

pp. 196-197, the Harmony class: The drawn pictures depict the ship, while the photo depicts the Bajoran wormhole ... maybe it's under cloak?

Okay, those were all my photo nitpicks. Even with those photo mix-ups, I've got to say that visually (and game-wise) the Starships book is by far the best-looking starship book I have ever seen, a true breathtaking beauty ... and this comment coming from someone that has the previous LUG starships book, the d20 Star Wars starships book, d20 Dragonstar Starships book, old Babylon 5 rpg starships book, etc. etc.

Now to some photo questions ...

    1) What starship is that on p. 4? I swear I am one of the biggest Trek geeks ever, but I have never seen that cool-looking ship.

    2) What starship is that on p. 32? It reminds me of the Axanar ship seen on Enterprise, except that the one in the Starships book has nacelle-like extensions on the sides.

    3) The starship on p. 35? Never seen that one either ... though it seems vaguely like the Andorian ships shown on Enterprise

That ship on page 4 kind of looks like the 'Harvester' ships showcased in the computer game Star Trek Elite Force. I could be wrong though. Still, its a great game. =)

The ship on page 32 is some kind of Cardassian freighter I believe... I know that its canon from somewhere (DS9 intro, maybe?), but I've seen it on a Star Trek modification for the computer game Homeworld, where its role was that of a resource freighter.

As for the one on 35... I have no idea. lol.

That's because it isn't. It is a Bo'mar ship from Voyager ep "The Raven". (scroll down ¾'s of this page http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/delta1.htm and check it out)

I wasn't going to mention it until I got an answer about the Scout combat manueverability base mods, but that seems to be a dead issue.

It is a 'Flea ship', from Voyager's 'The Fight'. (Yuck worst Stat Trek ep ever!)

It's a Karemma freighter from DS9 'Starship Down'.

It's a Hazari attack ship from Voyager 'Think Tank'.

Of course since they repeatedly reuse models and graphics, sometimes with no modification at all, you may well have seen these ships in other episodes, including Enterprise.

Thanks for the responses, guys. My lack of recognition of the indicated ships just goes to show that I'll have to step down from the vaulted office of "Biggest Trek Geek Ever".

Ah well, I'm sure someone will fill my post

During the Fed/Kling. war Dukat was assigned to this class of freighter. It was the ship he used before he got the K'Vort class.

And yes the artwork could have been better.

From what I recall, Dukat's freighter looked almost exactly (if not exactly) like the Groumall freighter on page 148 of the Starships book. In the DS9 episode "Return to Grace" where Dukat is commanding that freighter, the ship is actually referred to as the Groumall ...
