    Splendid Splendor passes away

    EDIT: Ted Williams has passed away at the age of 83, of cardiac arrest.

    Ted Williams was a Hall of Famer for the Boston Red Sox. He was the only player to finish a season with a .400 batting average (George Brett hit .402 at one point, but finished the year at .390)

    His life time average was .344 (probably one of the highest ever in baseball).

    I also got his nickname wrong. It's Splendid Splinter, obviously.
