For me, the bad part of the the 4th, is I'll have to work tonight. The good part is that I can go up to an upper floor, and watch fireworks shows from all over the city, even if it is from a distance, and without music or anything else.

Yep, Happy 4th of July from a Brit!

Just sorry you guys are having to worry about possible terror attacks...

Remember - there's no better way to show terrorists they won't win than to enjoy your lives as much as possible!!

    Happy 4th July, guys!

Couldn't say better than Capt. Hunter did.

It's funny how many national days happen in July... seems the habit of people straining to finish their work in July so they could go on holidays in August is an old one

The USA was started by a bunch of happy malcontents who Refused To Accept Things The Way They Are. They decided they could do a little bit better.

May that spirit continue with us.

One addendum to Ramage's comments... The nation was also started by a bunch of people who often couldn't stand each other, disagreed on huge issues, yet still managed to compromise enough with each other to form a government that continues to this day. May that spirit also guide us.

And a big thank-you to the French for blockading that little 'ole port of Yorktown and sending their own troops as well. Someone should put up a statue somewhere to celebrate that relationship, maybe in New York harbor.

It only took us a few centuries to return the favor.

    Safety First!

Setting off your own fireworks is a blast (), but stay away from the guy who says, "Hold my beer and watch this #$%^&*."

    Well put, Sarge.

    Have a happy 4th!

    Thumbs up

I saw the national fireworks from the balcony of my Condo. God, I love living in the DC Metro area!

    Happy 4th, y'all!
