    Another one from my game.

    Excelsior-class Explorer U.S.S. Jonathan Archer
"I will see my dream come alive at last; I will touch the sky."

No, it's not the PC's ship, but some important NPCs will be on it and it will be in the area of Starbase 289.

(Oh, I hate my fumble-fingered method of typing; it took Perryyy's quote to make me notice I typed the quote in wrong.)

    From USS Constitution, NCC-71000 (Galaxy-class)
"...to defend the liberty of the citizens of this Federation, and to spread its benefits..." From the original speach by President John Ford of the UFP on the christening of USS Constitution, NCC-1700.

    USS Athena, NCC-65809 (Arika-class)
    "Wisdom, science, and defense"

USS Shenandoah, NCC-1950 (Constitution II class)
    "We return to the stars..."
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

I probably would have gone with "Don't Panic" for the USS Douglas Adams, but that's just me

I too have gone for "Dulce et decorum est, pro patria mori". for my Defiant-class USS Thunderchild.

And for the USS Boudicea in my Dominion campaign, I'm toying with: "in this battle you must conquer or die" or "I am avenging lost freedom, my scourged body, the outraged chastity of my daughters."

USS Wayfarer - the long time PC ship of my campaigns:

"We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because it is easy but becasue they are hard..." JFK

I was watching "From Earth to the Moon" when I someone asked me what the dedication plaque said. JFK's speech may have been the defining speech of space exploration so I decided to use it.

    For NPC vessels:

    USS John Paul Jones

"I have not yet begun to fight"

    USS Farragut

"Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead."

    USS Kennedy

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

    USS Pavel Chekov

    "The Russians invented the starship."

    USS Frank Herbert

    "The spice must flow."

    USS Julius Ceasar

"Vedi Veni Vici" (I came I saw I conquered)

    USS Rubicon

    "The die is cast."

    USS Patton

"Compared to war, all other forms of human endeavour shrink into insignificance."

    USS Gettysberg

"Four score and seven years ago..."

    USS Blackadder

    "I have a cunning plan..."

    USS Excalibur

"Whoever pulleth this sword from this stone shall be King of all Britain"

    USS Churchill

"We will fight them on the beaches, on the landing grounds and in the fields, we will never surrender."

    USS Theodore Roosevelt

"Talk softly and carry a big stick."

    USS Casablanca

"Of all the bars and all the gin joints in the world, she has to walk into this one..."

    USS Frank Herbert

    "The spice must flow."

    USS Christopher Pike
    "Beep...beep...beep."

    USS Voltaire
"Bounce a graviton particle beam off the main deflector dish."

    USS Montgomery Scott
"When that much matter and anti-matter come together, of that you can be sure."

    USS McCoy
    "He's dead Jim."

    USS Enterprise (NX-01)
"Please cancel this show before we screw the timeline over any further."

    "Prepare to die"

    USS Emilio Lizardo
    "Laugh while you can, monkey-boy!"

    USS Han Solo

In a dangerous bit of tactics, I'll try to veer us back to the at least semi-serious dedication quotes, and not some of the silliness that's being shown.

I have a class of escort vessels called the King's Protector class in my series. Four of those ships, which always operate in the same squadron with each other, are the U.S.S. Aramis, U.S.S. Athos, U.S.S. Porthos, and the U.S.S. D'Artagnan. They share the singular distinction of all having the same quote on their dedication plaques. Naturally, that quote is "All for one, and one for all."
