    Exclamation Nova Class Refit {DS}

First of all this refit is not canon material. DO not try and find it anywhere. I have developed this for Starfleet allowing this small science ship to be turned into a small Deep Space Surveyor Ship. Any comments are welcome. I was just messing around with the Nova.

Nice write up. The only change I would sugegst, is that you upgrade the phasers. I'd say the Equinox had at least type 8s. Type 3s are pretty minimal. Of course, that may be what you're after

I'm also curious about the vulnerable system flaw. Any particular reason, or is it just for game flavour?

    Gam Flavor

I have no idea why I did it. Just spur of the moment. actually maybe to get more space. A science ship will not need them...hopefully.

    That's pretty good.

You might want to add an aft ventral tractor beam, if you have the points. Most ships larger than shuttles seem to have a fore and aft tractor. But obviously, it's your ship, so it's just a suggestion, don't feel pressured

    Matt,

What ship classification did you use to work out the maneuver modifiers? IMHO the Nova, as a Surveyor, would belong to the Scout/aux category, but that wouldn't allow the modifiers you give your Nova design.

And how did you arrive at a structure of 30? Size 5 usually has only 25 and I can't figure out how you could have 5 points to spare for a spcae-to-structure conversion:

    Ops Systems 5
    Life Support 6
    Sensors 4
    Impulse Drive 2
    Shuttlebay 2
    Warp Drive 5
    Phaser 20
    Torpedoes 8
    Shields 10
    -----------------------
    Sum: 62 (of 65)

    100th Post!!!!

I used the surveyor class. The ship is considered a surveyor so that's what class I used. It came out even. I will try it again but I used Theko's new program!!
