Question Star Trek RPG: Limited Edition

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but.....

Will the Limited Edition of Decipher's Star Trek Role Playing Game be available in game shops in the UK when it is released or is it going to be strictly mail order from the company?

I really hope the gaming stores can get them in!

According to Doug, only from Decipher.

    Take a look: http://calder.decipher.com/cgi-bin/m...scuss-20020722$8213-29722$4

And international shipping from the Decipher store is $17.50.

    on a slightly different note:

Will they have just new covers or will they be fixing any mistake or typos from the original books?

From one who is looking forward to having my order arrive any daywith the original books and wondering if I should get the special edition when it comes out.

The plan as it currently stands has the Limited Edition only available from Dechipher. At least for a while.

The books will have the same text, just (at least the last time I heard) leather covers and an added 32-page Sourcebook for "Enterprise" all in its own slip case.

    Angry Availability

    Aww Bloody Hell!!!!

I may as well buy the normal books........I was holding off until I could buy the LE but if Decipher are just going to make it mail order........

I think the powers that be have dropped a rock on their feet on that decision......I don't like mail order.....I like to see what I'm buying!

and I would've liked the Enterprise sourcebook!!

    oh well......never mind

One down, several hundred still standing.

Sorry, I hope you can get it some other way in a future. I'm sure you will.

Meanwhile, it would be interesting if someone threw us a bone (quick summary, etc) about the Enterprise booklet.

So as well as the large price, I'll get hit with a large international shipping fee as well.

Hmmm, I'm in two minds about buying this after all.

Mind you, I also swore I'd never buy GURPS: PD. I don't know, guess we'll see how my bank balance is feeling when it comes out.

I was fully planning to purchase the Limited Edition. But I have no plastic and if it's only going to be available via Decipher and not through distributors, I am afraid I will not be able to purchase it/

Is there any idea what the Limited Edition will actually cost in USD? I'm trying to figure out whether to wait for the LotR LE, or to buy both editions and get the first core book when it comes out. I'm hoping to get an idea for that cost by the ST set's cost, but I can't find any info on it whatsoever.

The Star Trek Limted Edition will be around $100. The LOTR one, around $75.

    Thanks Doug.

This is the first concrete info on a ballpark cost I've seen. I think I can sock 75 away for a LotR LE. Since I'm not an avid wather of Enterprise though, I think I'll pass on the ST set. I hope it's as snazzy as Matt Coville originally described it. Once again, thanks.

Though it looks expensive when you look at the cost of doing limited runs and designing the slipcase for 2 hardcover books (with some formating changes from the originals) and such that really is not that bad of the price even if it will cause many including myself have to think twice on ordering it.
