    Engage! or something like it.....

At one point in time, I heard that a Star Trek starship miniatures game called 'Engage!' was planned for the LUG version of ST.
Then, I heard that Engage was going to be released for the Decipher version.
Is this all rumor or is a Starship Combat game being designed for the newest edition of the ST RPG ?

    Thanks

Are you sure you don't mean 'Red Alert!'? It's a disk game, and while I don't play it, the one time I did it was pretty fun.

If Red Alert! is what you're referring to, it's out there. It's out of print, I believe, but you can find them around.

    Engage! Is real

Engage! is a project for starship commbat presented as a boardgame in the Trek universe. Decipher will do this, but the game is in the plans for 2003 at the earliest due to other pressing projects in the Trek line. I believe there is a thread in the Utopia Planitia forum about this from the game designer himself (and it escapes me who is responsible for this).

Matt Colville is in charge of Engage!, last I heard.

No, he's not looking for suggestions. No, he's not looking for playtesters.

    Where to go ?

Is there any information on Engage! somewhere on the net ?
I'd just like to know what they have in store for the game.

There was also a starship game written by an individual at one point, I believe it was called 'Final Frontier', and there was a link to it here.....
Does anyone know of a current link to this game ?

    Thanks

Ah, Red Alert!... a splendid little game, although fleet actions were a bit much for single players to handle. Would that more people played it.

Fantasy Flight, btw, has retained the Red Alert! concept and designed their own "universe" to play the game in. It's called Armada, and they've cleaned up some of the problems with the ship layouts, etc. It's worth checking out if you liked Red Alert's game play.

Here is one called Microtrek I've tried. It's ok and simple enough.

Lately I've been using Full Thrust for Trek miniature games.

    Final Frontier

Stuart Thayn created Final Frontier, and unfortunately, I think his site is down.It is a good game but very detailed.

For one on one it is great, but for bigger , more DS9 type fights, there is Star Trek Warzone, also by Thayn. It is very good.

If I can find an email for him I'll post it.

If you do find it, please send it my way; I would like to get in touch with him too.
