    Challenge For Steven..

I have been an admirer of the Space Dock system.. and agree that it workd as well as the Decipher system.. I would like to see other show ship stats though.. Like Battlestar Galactica or Baylon 5.. I have seen the stats for the Lug trek for these I would like to see them in Spacedock.. I do not have the talent to do the conversions.. Especially since the Glactica is still under debate as to how big it is.. one says 2 miles the other says 600 yards. go figure..

I tried the Galactica, based on info from the shows and the online Tech Manual. It was quite hard. The size figure on the Tech Manual is the most accurate, as it's based on size comparisons with Vipers and Cylon Raiders (which we've seen next to people and can thus size accurately). That makes her about Size 11 or 12, but given the low power of her systems (laser weaponry, no faster than 0.25c at sublight, unknown FTL propulsion but speculated some sort of hyperdrive and no shields except perhaps very low power ones - Cain orders the Battlestar Pegasus to "put electromagnetic defence screens to full power") it's extremely hard to fill up that space with Spacedock SU costs. It's possible, but she's extremely weak compared to a Trek ship of similar size.

Since I specifically designed the SD rules to simulate Star Trek, I'm not sure whether they'd do a good job with other shows' ships -- at least not without a lot of conversion, adaptation, and additional rules. I'm afraid I don't have time to undertake a project like that, but I believe a few fans (like Capt. Hunter) have tried their hands at such things; hopefully they'll share their wisdom with you.

That'd be a real hard conversion. The impeller wedge is both drive and undefeatable shielding, and most of the weapons are less than compatable with Spacedock.
