Born on the Welsh coast in 2227, James Dougan joined Starfleet as part of the 2245 expansion initiative.

Posted to USS Potempkin for his cadet cruise in 2249, Ensign Dougan remained with the Constitution-class cruiser for 12 years. He received promotions to Lt. j.g. in 2251, to Lieutenant in 2255, and to Lieutenant Commander in 2260, before taking the First Officer position on the Anton-class cruiser USS Macefield in 2261.

When the Hornet's CO went missing during a mission to Beta Tau IX in 2266, newly promoted Cmdr. Dougan was tapped to take the position. He commanded the Hornet for five years, then accepted a promotion to the rank of commodore and command of Sector 14. He was appointed to Starfleet Command as a Rear Admiral in the office of Starfleet Operations in 2277, before accepting his current appointment in 2284.

Born in eastern Utsat Province in 2233, K'col was one of the first of his people to enter Starfleet, transferring his RCSN (Royal Caitian Star Navy) commission in 2260 to the rank of lieutenant commander. K'col was assigned to the brand new all-Caitian Constitution-class heavy cruiser USS Vastayn (NCC-1725), becoming the ship's First Officer in 2266 and receiving a promotion to commander.

In 2271, he was promoted to captain and relieved James Dougan as CO of USS Hornet, serving through the ship's 18-month refit in 2274-75. At the end of the refit, K'col was tapped for a promotion to Commodore and assigned as the Superintendent of Starfleet Academy's Command School.

K'col has an interest in military philosophy and is a student of Klauswitz. He also develops wargame scenarios for the Academy's combat tactics curriculum.

Unfortunately, no, since I converted these characters directly from FASA (combining two different conversion guidelines to do so). Don's wonderful Icon-to-Coda guidelines didn't have rules for estimating the number of advancements for a converted character (or, at least, I don't recall seeing any such rules).

The only way to do that would be to reverse engineer the character and see how many total picks it's worth, subtracting the base character creation picks, then estimating the character's advancements from the remainder. If I have time (and after I finish posting the other six former Hornet crewmembers), I'll see if I can do that for you.

Greornig Agnitash's birth in 2225 was an event heralded throughout Tellar, as his was the first birth to a sitting Speaker of Parliament in nearly 350 years. His first years were in the spotlight as the "First Toddler" of Tellar, and the young Tellarite frequently "hammed" it up in front of cameras.

As he grew, young Greornig tired of the attention, and it was no surprise that he left his home planet at the earliest opportunity, to enter Starfleet Academy.

He was first assigned to USS Innsbruck as an ensign in 2248, receiving promotions to lieutenant, j.g., and lieutenant in 2249 and 2251, respectively. He returned home to Tellar in 2256 as a Starfleet liaison to the Speaker, where he reluctantly regained much of the popularity of his youth.

Promoted to lieutenant commander in 2260, Greornig headed the Starfleet research facility at Theta II for two years before taking the Chief Science Officer position on the Nelson-class scout USS Cook. In 2268, he saved the ship from almost certain destruction near the Tyambii system and received the Medal of Honor for his heroism.

He was further rewarded with a promotion to commander and the Executive Officer spot on the Hornet. Greornig served as the heavy cruiser's XO for six years.

He was promoted to captain in 2273 and given command of USS Northampton, lead ship of the Northampton-class of heavy frigates.

Greornig is married with three children, aged 18, 16 and 14 years. His family lives on Tellar.

Mishka Andreopov was born in 2236 to physician parents, growing up in St. Petersburg. She was pushed into medicine by her parents, but went against their wishes when she entered Starfleet as a lieutenant, j.g., upon graduation from Medical School in 2262.

She was immediately assigned to USS Hornet, and was promoted to lieutenant in 2264. The doctor was named the Hornet's chief medical officer in 2268, and was promoted to lieutenant commander two years later.

Mishka began a relationship with Athens school teacher Sol Jezack while on shore leave in 2265, and married him upon her retirement from Starfleet in 2273. She now runs a private practice in Athens, and is expecting her first child in late 2275.

Anjylara Wotane was born in 2252 in a rural region of Centaurus, the youngest child (and only girl) of five. Growing up with four brothers made her tough and strong-willed, and she quickly was known for being a "tough little girl."

Her father was a Starfleet officer, and all five of the Wotane children eventually followed in his footsteps. Angel, as she preferred to be called (Anjylara literally means "angel" in Centauran), surprised everyone by choosing the security branch.

Upon her graduation in 2274, Lt. j.g. Wotane (she was meritoriously promoted for rescuing three fellow students in a shuttle accident) transfered to USS Hornet. Her outstanding work earned her an early promotion to lieutenant in 2275, followed by her assignment as Chief Security Officer in 2276.

Angel transferred to the Wilkerson-class destroyer USS McIverton in 2279, where she serves as the Chief Security Officer.

Born and raised in suburban Tokyo, Jason Hiamoto grew up enamored with the history of the Japanese people, particularly the linguistics pioneer Hoshi Sato. He studied her exploits religiously, alongside of his other "archaic" pursuits of the katana and archery.

Jason entered Starfleet Academy and graduated in 2272, in the middle of his class. He was assigned to USS Hornet as a communications officer, and distinguished himself with innovative ideas during the ship's 2274-75 refit.

Promoted to Lt. j.g. in 2274 and to lieutenant in 2276, Jason left the Hornet in 2280 for the Kiev-class escort USS Tokyo and a promotion to lieutenant commander.

He continues to pursue his study of Japanese history and ancient culture.

Roberto Curacao was born on Jupiter Station in 2236, the son of Argentinian scientists. He frequently got into trouble for taking apart everything from communicators to tricorders, just to see how they worked.

His affinity for tinkering grew with him, and Roberto entered Starfleet Academy in 2254. Upon his graduation in 2258, Ensign Curacao was assigned to the Constitution-class heavy cruiser USS Hood for his cadet cruise, then transfered to the Nelson-class scout USS Gerard.

Roberto was promoted to Lt. j.g. in 2260, and to lieutenant in 2263, before transferring to the Hornet in 2266. He was promoted to lieutenant commander in 2267 and assigned as Chief Engineer.

When the Constitution-class cruiser USS Challenger lost her CO and first officer in 2268, the new commanding officer, an old buddy of Roberto's from his early days on the Hood, the engineer was tapped to be the ship's new exec.

Roberto was promoted to commander in 2273.

Okay, there's the past and present crew of the Hornet. I'll go back through and insert the remaining favored attributes and reactions, and see if I can reverse engineer the characters to determine about how many advancements they're worth.

Grrrr! I had this thing finished and was in the middle of editing it when Netscape locked up on me.... :fume:

So, here's take two.

I figured out the advancements by totalling up the various categories (number of skill levels {including specialties}, reaction bonuses, edges, courage points, professional abilities {not gaiined through basic character creation or the use of starship duty} and renown).

I then subtracted the totals for a "base" character (25+{Intx2} skill levels, 1 edge, reaction bonuses {based on the character's attributes} and courage points) and the species bonuses (only skill levels, courage points and reactions...I didn't include species bonus edges in the final totals).

I then multiplied the final totals in each category by the appropriate number of picks (I used 1.5 for skill levels, and either 2 or 3 for reactions, based on favored/non-favored...everything else was as per p.153 of the PG). I totalled the various products and divided the sum by 5, giving me the rough estimate of how many advancements each character had.

The numbers seem to be all over the scale, but I figure that is, at least in part, due to the random nature of character creation in FASA's Star Trek (instead of getting a set number of points in a skill, the character often rolled a d10, allowing for some variance in the skill levels of characters with equivalent experience). I think high rolls, and some high attributes, explains Lt. Wotane's (who is one of the least experienced of the former crew) 26 advancements. Either way, she's effectively a prodigy.
