One suggestion - don't overdo the camp. I always felt TOS took itself seriously - at least much more so than the "camp version" of it.

OR, and this applies to every ST series, technology or applications of technology that exists or are used in one epsiode and not in another! It might be fun to work this in to a game, where tech-based tactics or tricks work in one situation but not in another.Originally posted by Antonsb214

These would really lend that TOS feel. You could do the same for any of the other series, too. They're all full of their own brand of silliness, god love 'em. They needn't be silly, of course, just apropos. The CODA rules include such delights as Oratory. I hoping the SOM will have rules for expanding hand-to-hand combat to include unique maneuvers like the Kirk Sacrifice Kick and the Kirk-Off. I think any ST character with any combat skill should have some schtick liek this, even if it's just that stupid two-handed clubbing thing.
I'M Captain Kirk!!!!
How about every creature, except for really weird ones, can speak perfect English? Except for the Horta and the Salt Creature, I think everyone spoke English. I didn't see that UT in every episode either.

Well I will say (presuming you are using the coda rules) that the icon rulebook for TOS was an ecellent example of trying to put a modern spin on the classic show. I also love the fact that they included the double karate chop as a combat maneuverAnother thing to keep in mind is the protrayal of Klingons/ Romulans. In the day "Klingon Honor" was a practical oxymoron. Klingons were decietful vile and would sell thier own mothers to get ahead in the power structure. (this had a lot to do with their being a representation of the cold war soviets, and the Romulans were similar to the cold war Chinese) just make sure that you play your Klingons and Romulans are the foes that they were in the day!

Don't get me wrong, I love Star Trek. LUG Trek is my favorite game of all time.
These are just some of the things that make it oh-so-campy for me (in a good way).
Thus, a few more cliches for this old list: Some might have been listed before, these are my favorite.

Every bridge hit means people flip over the rails.
Every other bridge hit means a control panel sparks, and catches fire.
Every Sparking control panel fire means that Spock MUST leap under the console, rip out a panel, and "Put out the flames with his hands."
Spock's attempts at damage control are stated as, "Repairs will take time, Captain." Except that for everything else, he can quote stuff to 12 digits, minute, second, and nanosecond, even if it is the next port time arrival, in 2 weeks.
Kirk has heard of every Ambassador, Doctor, Colony Administrator and Admiral he meets, long bnefore meeting them, when most people can't name the mayor of their large city, or name more than 3 Senators, and a pair of congressmen.

Spock screws people over by giving them his Katra, or Interrogating them with the Vulcan Mind-Meld.
The VMM is a Secret, Ancient Technique, "painful" for him, yet he never fails to use it.
When using the VMM, Spock and Meldee must say the same things, until:
Spock breaks away;
Spock breaks away screaming;
Meldee breaks away screaming;
Spock is taken over by the Meldee, and must be Slapped by Dr. M'Benga, the Only Doctor for Vulcans in Starfleet, who just happens to be on hand.
