    Medical catch phrases

Does anyone have any medical catch phrases? Things that could be thrown around in a game with a medical officer PC? DOes anyone have a medical officer that they use alot of? I want to make my game as complete as possible and just don't know enough about medicine (Especially in ST) to make it fun for a medical officer. Any help?

You could always use the famous "I'm a Doctor, not a < insert whatever profession here >" as well

Just so happens that I'm starting to work on a Star Trek medical netbook. I'll be sure to include some medical technobabble charts to use.

Till then, have the CMO say, "I need 10 cc's of inaprovaline, a medical tricorder, and a dermal regenerator, STAT!"

Someone posted a link to a PDF that had a medical treknobabble chart. It was similar to the LUG version.

In an ideal world, I'll submit it to Don and trekrpg.net for posting. If I can't do that, I'll just email the PDF to anyone who wants it.

    Once it's done, of course.

Once I start writing it, of course.

Queue thick cajun accent: "You know, son, you gon' hurt youself one'a dese day in a way I no can fix, you..."

"You obviousy ain't eatin' enough fatty foods..."
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. Sort of a bump here.

Maybe a better description will help someone recognize what I was talking about.

A while back, someone posted a link to a chart very similar to the treknobabble chart in the original LUG main book. It had three columns and you could randomly put the terms together to get an “Impacted Proximal Medula” and stuff like that. I think it was a link to someone’s website?

I am pretty sure it was posted here somewhere, but I cannot find it.
DOes anyone have a medical officer that they use alot of? I want to make my game as complete as possible and just don't know enough about medicine (Especially in ST) to make it fun for a medical officer. Any help?
Doing the “I am the Doctor, I fix people.” thing all the time can be boring. One suggestion would be to have the player tell you a bit about the character’s past and create adventures that are not just “Doctor” oriented, but that deal with the character’s other interests. Also, I use a NPC Tellarite doctor in my campaign…. way too much fun!!!

Kronok, I can beat that. In my campaign, the ship's counsellor is a Tellarite. He's a firm believer in tough love; as soon as he figures out what's wrong with you, he'll tell you in no uncertain terms what you're doing wrong, and kick you out of his office.

    Back on topic...

I remember that medibabble chart. I don't remember where the link was.

I was also wondering if anyone had a list of drugs and things like Redknox Five that had been listed anywhere? Or a listing of surgical impliments and such?

Thanks. For a second there, I was thinking I thought it up in some alternate reality.

Easiest way to freak out a PC patient:

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

If you can find an old copy of the Mandel/Drexler Star Fleet Medical Reference Manual from the mid-1970's, there are a lot of useable bits in there. Also of some use are the new Starfleet Survival Guide and various entries in the Star Trek Encycloedia by the Okudas.
