Not only did CODA blatantly rip off D20, WhiteWolf, Chaosium, SW D6, Toons, Ambre, and countless others, but they added a lot of non-canon stuff in their history of the Federation, thus showing an unbearable disrespect of the Holy Continuity Of Trek.

Plus, have you noticed that they called the people who play the game "Players" ? This is a pure rip off of nearly every other RPG. I wonder why people didn't notice it earlier.

Disclaimer : my intent is just to be silly, not to offend anyone. You never know, these days...

Sorry to bring this up but have you seen a movie called the Searchers w/John Wayne?

What's this crap using dice to play a roleplaying game anyway? I mean, how bloody original is that?!?

Bleh!

ICON, D20 & CODA are just rip-offs of rock, paper scissors!

Good points all, people, but you're not looking back far enough... You're forgetting the original copy, the first shameless plagiarism, the one and truly (well, you get the gist... now for the building of drums as we reach the climax...):

D&D is a rip-off of LOTR!!!!!

Yes, just look at how it horribly copied wizards and warriors running through dark caves in the early 70s, shamelessly pillaged from Tolkien's original novels! The original version of D&D even had Hobbits in it!!

Now, how's that for a revelation?

(Siroth, demonstrating that the concept of humor is not entirely lost on him... hopefully.)

Next: How Tolkien is a shameless rip-off of germanic and norse mythology, starting with 'Beowulf'...

Since we proved flawlessly that LOTR was a ripoff of ICON Trek, following Siroth, that proves DD is a ripoff or ICON Trek!

Thus D20 is a ripoff of ICON!

Muahahaha!! Gotcha!

Just wanted to add one little thing:

I said CODA was an ICON ripoff. I never said it was a bad ripoff!
(all right, maybe I got carried away, I'm not sure, so let's say I never intended to say it was a bad ripoff )

I would even go as far as to say: It is actually a very good ICON ripoff! Wait, wouldn't that almost be a sort of ICON, 2nd edition?

Face it. This whole debate is pointless. All RPG's are blatant rip-offs (is that a word?) of (drumroll please)

Which is itself an admitted rip-off of 'Watership Down'.
