    Well, now...

    A $5,700 new roofing job on my house has mutated into a $9,600 job. Mainly due to shoddy repair work done by the last owner - who didn't report on, or simply LIED about, the extent of the damage when the house was sold.)

    And there went the money I had saved for Christmas...
