I need someadvice/help from some D Prouduct Champs

I'm pondering the idea of becoming one, oregon does not have one yet, and I would love to do it. I have read the email KEvin (I think thats his anem) sent me and it sounds fun. could someone tell me their ideas about it, their stories, a summery of how you like it? any help would be appreciated. thanks

Well, I'm NOT a PC for Decipher, but I do know somebody who is a Lord of the Rings CCG PC, and was a LOTR RPG Champion for a short time. Here are a few comments she made. She's ok'd me leaving her email address after the message if you wish to follow up on anything (though she will be out of town for about the next week):

I've been a Decipher LOTR TCG Product Champion for about 6 months, I was a LOTR RPG Product Champion for about 6 weeks. It can be a good job if you can deal with the frustration. Basically - I quit being an RPG product champion because I felt that they were not giving the game the support it needed. I realize that the RPGs are not the cash cow that the cards are, but even allowing for that I didn't think Decipher had it's act together with the RPGs. However, if you don't mind that; its not a bad deal. Assuming they make you a product champion (and it can take 1 - 2 months for you to get a response, with no response at all if they aren't interested in you). They will send you a copy of each of the books, etc that they print and in return they ask that you send them a monthly status report detailing the work you are doing to promote the game in your home town. You will wind up on an email list with the rest of the product champions for your game and can discuss ideas and ways to promote the game with your fellow PCs. Decipher monitors these lists and will often jump in and comment on something BUT the people monitoring the list are not the people that make all the decisions, so while they can report any problems you bring up, often there is nothing they can do about it. I get too involved with the games I support, so I quit the RPG PC list as I wanted them to DO something about the game, not just toss it out to the wolves (distributors) and let it sink or swim on its own, but that's my own personality quirk. Hope this helps
