    Question Star Trek Milestones

OKay so let's say you were rewriting the entirity of Star Trek. From Enterprise to the end of Voyager...

What are the most importatn historical events or episodes?

    For example...

Wolf 359 seems to be pretty important to me.

Some could make a case for the Whale probe event being fairly important.

    So what do you think?

I would say the beginning of the Romulan/Federation war (and the end of it)

First Contact with The Cardassian Union and the supsequent war.

    The V'Ger incident

The second Borg assault on Earth

The temporary collapse of the Khitomer Accords during the Dominion War.

I'd add Organian Peace Treaty ("Errand of Mercy"), reappearences of the Romulans on the galactic stage ("Balance of Terror", "The Neutral Zone"), discovery of Bajorn Wormhole ("Emissary").

Not to overly nitpick here, but it's pretty much the Romulan/Earth war, not the Federation (it was founded afterwards).

I think all the definite canon events have been named (the arrival of Voyager to Earth may or may not be a big deal); all the others I can think of are more campaign-dependent and what you choose to believe.

For example, the launching of the Constitution-class has been stated in some places to have heralded a golden age of discovery for the Federation. Other things that may or may not have "actually" happened include a Federation/Klingon conflict (now that the first contact story has been mucked with), the Axanari conflict (the Axanar Peace Mission is canon, but we don't really know what it refers to), and the Four Years War (which FASA combined with the first two).

Other important events may be classified to the general public. Enterprise aside, I think the discovery of the Guardian of Forever and the Mirror Universe were fairly important, as the first was the first canon way to reliably time-travel, while the second was the first parallel universe traveled to. But of course, YMMV.

Here's my opinion for what its worth:

    Project Genesis
    The Destruction of Praxis
    The Khitomer Accords
    Encounter at Farpoint
    Wolf 359
    The Klingon Civil War
The Discovery of the Bajoran Wormhole
    The Temporal Ribbon
    The Dominion War

Now I'll admit a couple of these were more mundane than others, but the consequences were still far reaching.

I AM the lowest common denominator!

    Talking I.M.O...H or otherwise...

Let’s see, events that change the UFP/Starfleet/Earth:
    The Eugenics War
    WW III
The launch/lost of the S.S. Valiant
…all of which has been ignored by the current PTB(AKA ‘they/them’)
...and that's about the time it hit the fan...

    Truisms I know:
    1) Marvel is NOT better than DC (nor should EVERYTHING be ‘ULTIMITED’),
    2) D20 is NOT the best gaming system out there (nor should EVERYTHING be ‘crammed’ into it),
    3) And No matter how ‘THEY’ dress it up, Regardless of how ‘THEY’ title it, and even if ‘THEY’ say “BASED ON…”; “ENTERPRISE” IS NOT STAR TREK!!!
    4) 'Reality' T.V. ain't 'Real'

Isn't Federation Day the day the UFP was founded (thereby combining #2 and #6)?
