    The Two Towers Soundtrack preview

Head over to soundtrack.net to listen to 30 second previews of every track on the new soundtrack, due in stores Dec. 10.

Sounds like it'll be every bit as good as FOTR.

I must be in the minority -- I didn't think the FOTR soundtrack was very good, actually.

Mind you, I don't think it was bad either; just not very good.

Really? Any reason why you didn't care for it, Don, or was it just something you listened to and went "Ehh." ?

I've heard so many people say good things about it, it would be nice to hear from someone who didn't love it.

Pretty much an "eh" for me. I'm something of a soundtrack aficionado so maybe that has something to do with it. It didn't (personally) find the FOTR score particularly 'impressive' or 'epic' enough for my tastes. It pales in comparison to the likes of "Gladiator" or the sleeper "Dragonheart" -- both with many stirring tracks.

The commercialism of Enya also turned me off. I like Enya and I like soundtracks. I don't necessarily like the two together.

For the most part, I liked the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack, but I wasn't all that fond of the Enya track, in terms of it fitting with the soundtrack. Not that I don't like Enya's music, far from it, as I have all of her CD's, and the orchestrated CD from the Taliesin Orchestra as well.

Really, I just felt that the Enyra track was sort of 'tacked in' with the soundtrack, in an attempt to make something that radio could play, so that the soundtrack might sell a bit better than it perhaps would otherwise (as well as to capitalize on the renewed popularity of Enya following her 'A Day Without Rain' CD, which was excellent, by the way).

Does anyone know if there's going to be a radio-release for the new soundtrack, in the vein of 'May it Be', from the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack? I haven't really heard anything about the new soundtrack, so I'm in the dark...

As far as I know, Liv Tyler is to d a song at the end of the movie. I believe its Gollum's song - although I am not sure.

There will be a "Gollum's Song," but it's sung by Emiliana Torrini, not Liv Tyler.
