Ahhhhh, I still haven't bought the new ST game, still waiting for the limited edition. So naturally, I'm kind of eager to know how it's going or if I should just give up.

From what I recall Don mentioning - in another thread - about the frozen-in-a-glacier ENT supplement that was supposed to accompany the Limited Edition, it sounds as though Decipher likely has no solid plans at this point as to when it's due to hit the shelves. Considering that Decipher has got, from what I can immediately remember, Worlds, Through a Glass Darkly, Blood and Honor and Peacekeepers to catch up on before they even think about setting new release dates, we're probably looking at late '04 to early '05 before the Limited Edition even enters the gaze of the crystal ball.
This is, of course, predicated on the idea that Decipher will continue to follow the Fall/Winter = LotR, Spring/Summer = Trek pattern they've established over the last couple of years. If I'm in error on this prediction, please let us know.
This may not even come about as they planned to do the same for Lord of the Rings with a Shire supplement as well and it was cancelled.
Unfortunately, and for a number of reasons, the Limited Editions of both the Star Trek and Lord of the Rings RPGs have been scrapped. The material included in the Enterprise and Shire sourcebooks will be inserted as possible in other sourcebooks (like the Suliban entry in Aliens, for example).

Too bad; I was looking forward to what a cleaned-up Player's Guide would have emerged from chrysalis as, with a reorganized, refurbished and streamlined character creation section, (hopefully) expanded character history sheets and all the ducks laid out in a row. Ah, well.
I don't think that was ever going to happen. As I recall from what was mentioned here by the people in the know, the limited Edition wouldn't have done any updating on the books. The only difference would have been the nice new covers and the extra sourcebook. Though if I'm mistaken, I'm sure someone will jump in and say soOriginally posted by D.S.McBride

Nope, you got it, as I understood it. The LEs would have been a repackaged version of the same printing in the case of Trek, and a repackaged version of the second printing of the LOTR core book. To change the layout and such would have required a much larger effort.Originally posted by Capt Daniel Hunter
