LOTR Advice needed
I've had a flick thru the LOTR (CODA) at my local game store, and I must say I'm impressed.
I flirted with MERP (from ICE???) many moons ago, but never went anywhere with it, and I'm sort of equivocating about getting the LOTR game now.
My main question is: is it playable? Not from a game mechanics POV, but from a story POV?
I mean, we know what happens after the end of Return of the King - Sauron dead, evil critters dying off, elves shuffling off to the Grey Havens.
Can there still be a "Middle Earth" feel about it? Or does it simply become another stock fantasy setting?
In other words, how do people go about getting the Tolkienish feel to their campaigns without involving them in what we know is the really important stuff?
I'm rambling a bit, I know. It's late, and the question just occurred to me, but hopefully people sort-of know what I'm talking about.
When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It is difficult only for others.
It's the same when you are stupid...
