One of those PC Species threads

First, a happy holidays to all those on the board.

    Now, on to business...

I'm starting a new Star Trek TOS Movie Era campaign using the LUG ICON system and a lot of material from my ol' FASA days. My players have, as usual, choosen an interesting array of species. All the character concepts that follow are PCs, with Males playing Males and Females playing Females. All the players have between 4 and 25 years experience with RPGs...

    Human/Female-Captain
    Xelatian/Male-First Officer/Chief Science Officer
    Human/Male-Chief Engineer
    Orion/Female-Chief Security Officer
    Human/Male-Chief Helmsman
    Vulcan/Female-Position Not Yet Confirmed

The Vulcan/Female PC (my wife) will most likely be the Chief Navigator and an expert in stellar cartography (She loves maps ). There are a few additional players, one full time, another part on a part time/guest star basis. Character concepts for these three are still up in the air.

So...What is your current PC crew like?

My game hasn't begun yet, I'm still working on the preliminary stuff, but the people who've spoken an interest thus far have specified the following:

A Human Male CMO (thank goodness *someone* wanted to play a human!)

    A Vulcan xenobiologist

One guy wants to do either a Brikar or a Hermat from the "New Frontier" book series (we're going to work on stats together)

One guy wants to do a Betazoid (I'm working on designing a race of warriors who hunt psionically endowed beings and use them as weapons in war, so I was hoping someone would play a Betazoid or a Vulcan!)

And one guy wants to be the ship's cook -- a Jem'Hadar! The character would occasionally slip a little White into the food... I vetoed that pretty soundly, but gave him marks for creativity!

Troupe style play with a rotating GM so keep up...

    Player 1 - Human/Male CO; Vulcan/male Asst. Councilor; Caitin/male Engineering Chief (Enlisted)

Player 2 - Joined Trill/Female Helm; Joined Trill/female CMO; Human/female Asst. Ship Opps & Head of Damage Control; Zacdorn/female secondary tactical officer

Player 3 (Secondary GM)- Human/female Head of Security & 2nd officer; Tellerite/male Chief of Engineering, Andorian/female Intelligence officer; Vulcan/male Jr. science officer; Andorian/male security officer

    Player 4 - Bolian/male chief of operations; Human/male large dumb brick...um...ah...security

Player 5 - Nepian/Human female Ship's Councilor; Bajoran/male Head of Science Department; Human/female enlisted engineer and party person; Hiilian/female medical assistant

Player 6(Primary GM) - Romulan/Human female Torpedo Room Chief, Human/male Computer engineer

There have been other players in the past but this is the core of the group (thats why some of the players have more characters then others - inherited the cool ones)

    Questions:
rasiler - would you like to save yourself some work? I have a Brikar template if you would like it.

AndorMan - What the heck is a "Xelatian"?

    Later all...
    Phoenix...

    Species ID

A Xelatian is a Squid-Like alien identified and detailed in the Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update produced by FASA. This species can be seen in the council chambers scenes that open and close ST:IV-The Voyage Home.

A Nepian-For some reason I thought it was spelled differently-is a TNG alien depicted as a PC species in the LUGTrek Player's Guide. It is a bumpyhead species with some empathic abilities. If this is not the species you are refering to, please let us know.

    Also...
I forgot to mention our crew serves on a Loknar Class Light Frigate.

I'm dreaming of a white...Andor. Just like the one I used to know.

it's spelled Nepean, sorry for the confusion

AndorMan is correct they're a projective empathic species from TNG (for those of you who must know the bumps shaped a "Y" or fork like ridge on their foreheads).
    Phoenix...

"it's spelled Nepean, sorry for the confusion"

Actually, it's spelled "Napean." Nepean is a suburb of Ottawa.

Slightly post-Enterprise era ship, USS Artemis.

    PCs:

    Captain, female human
    XO/Chief Science officer, male human
    Chief Engineer, male Alpha Centauran
    Chief of Security, male human
    CMO, female Vulcan

The rest of the ship has a few Alpha Centaurans, but it's mostly human, given the era and the pre-Federation nature of the beast.

Of the original 101 crewmembers of Artemis, 31 were Centauran. There are only two onboard now (including the Chief Engineer); most sought reassignment after Earth's declaration of war against the Romulans.

I have a Jem'Hadar PC in my game. As part of his exploration of humanity he likes to cook.

My PCs, from my Star Trek: Dominion campaign:

    Vulcan Male captain
    El-Aurian First Officer
    Renegade/experimental Jem'hadar
    EMH
    Greg

Our setting: Post-Dominion War, shortly before the events of ST: Nemesis.

    Our ship: U.S.S. Musashi, Akira-class.

    Our group:
    Betazoid - XO
Human - Chief Helmsman and 2nd Officer
    Bajoran/Human - Security Chief
    Vulcan/Klingon - Medical and RRT
    Andorian - Security and Tactical
    Vulcan - Chief Science Officer
    Human - Chief Engineer

A pretty mixed bag, but we work well together.
