    Cool

Well... In Greek Mythology Prometheus is one of the Titans. Maybe (just maybe, since there are no other hints around currently) the USS Titan is a Prometheus class with the multi-vector assault system.

Well since it is Riker I would say it would be one of the bigger classes of ship such as the Sovereign or Galaxy. He has been first officer on the flagship for fifteen years and has a ton of experience. I doubt they would put him on a Nova.

Perhaps my post was too logical. The track record for 28 years of Star Trek indicates that Titan will be something new- but I bet it has a saucer, an engineering hull, and two nacelles. I also bet it is sleek and deadly looking. Furthermore, I'll bet that it will be an Explorer. Damn. I just described a Sovereign.

It should be noted that Riker's ship was slated to "head up" Task Force Omega which had been assigned near the neutral zone.

Which would suggest that among other things it's either larger or more capable than say the USS Galaxy(which is part of the task force in question)

Also Wesley spouts off a bunch of technobabble regarding the ship's warp core, which seems to suggest that it's something of a completely new development.

Maybe the first of her class...(Though somehow, I doubt it.)

Shouldn't this thread be over in the Star Trek Chat area, rather than theNarrator's Ready Room?

Now, if we assume that you're talking gaming...

Make the ship whatever you want it to be - it's your game. Maintaining consistency with canon (i.e. on screen events) isn't an issue, since the Star Trek: Titan series rumours are speculation by fans who read the pirated script on-line months ago. The closest thing you're likely to get to an official class will come from the near-inevitable Pocket Books continuation of the Star Trek, The Next Generation novel line, and I don't think they've announced anything yet.

Me, I don't have to worry about it yet, as the events of Nemesis are still 3 1/2 years ahead of my game continuity.

True, but I was thinking of starting a crew on it... My current game is set in 74 which is probably about when the thing would have been concieved and her hull starting to be layed down. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who had inside info. Thanks for the posts, guys.

Well, it is doubtful whether we will ever hear of the Titan again based on how well Nemesis fared...

The rumors I've heard of it was that it was supposed to be a Galaxy class ship, but then there have been rumors that Paramount were considering using Riker's ship as a basis for a new show or film. After all, the ship's name isn't actually mentioned in Nemesis, is it? Anyway, I heard they considered renaming it the U.S.S. Mariner and make it a completely new type of ship.

Now, I'm very skeptical of this myself, but if you're interested check up the following link. Just remember that it's information is very doubtful:

Well at least in the German version it is mentioned that Rikers ship is the Titan, thus I assume its the same in the English verssion. And I think Titan sounds better than Mariner.

    (...sigh...)

Yes, the Titan is mentioned by name in Nemesis.

Hey, Mod Squad, isn't it time to toss this thread into the Star Trek Chat Forum?
