    From the character creation rules, am I correct in reading that you may take only one edge form either the personal or professional choices: why couldn't you take an edge from both?
    You only get one Edge for no cost. You can take up to a total of three Edges during character creation (not counting any provided by Species), but would have to take Flaws to balance out any Edges beyond the first (in fact, the limit of only two Flaws during character creation is the reason you can only take three Edges).

    How would XPs be converted to the new system? No mention of them is made in the Conversion document...

    The conversion guidelines assume you have spent all accrued XP prior to the conversion process.

    No problem about the wait.

    These three edges you speak of pertain only to the professional and development parts of character creation, right? I ask because the book says you can start with up to five edges.

    Yep. That's where the "not counting any provided by Species" part comes in.
