>>Blue Planet is an interesting sounding game from biohazard games (or is it Fantasy Flight games, I can never get that straight).<<
The Blue Planet Rpg was originally released by Biohazard Games. The 2nd edition is produced by Fantasy Flight Games.
It's basically a Hard Sci-fi Rpg that deals with mankind's first contact with an inhabitable planet light years from Earth. As you would imagine from the game's title, this planet is predominantly a Waterworld with very small continental land masses that often take the shape of archipelagos.
Blue Planet includes some elements of animal "uplifting", and considering the environment, the game contains rules for generating sea-life characters. From dolphins to whales, etc.
Blue Planet mixes a few elements into its Sci-fi cocktail as well. You've got some Hard Sci-fi, a little 'Cyberpunk' (implanted modifications), corporate struggles, and a big 'Mystery' beneath the sea.
