Religion
I'm just wondering how you other Narrators have incorporated religion into your games. I think Trek handles religion well in the case of Bajorans. I am interested in how you handle them, and other alien races and their religious beliefs. I am also curious how you handle humanity and religion.
Have you ever noticed for the most part that humans are the least spiritual race in the Star Trek universe? I am a very religious person myself, and I like to find ways to incorporate my Christian beliefs into some aspect of my game. I am wondering if any of you have done this and how? Or how about Islam? Or Buddhism? Or for that matter, atheism? I don't think religion has simply disappeared in the 24th century human society.
Of course, if you look at some of the episodes, humanity seems to have taken a much more scientific outlook. Where the Bajorans see the "Prophets" humankind sees "Wormhole Aliens." When Q took Captain Picard back in time in All Good Things, we witnessed a very Darwinian view of humanity's creation.
I think that religion is still alive in 24th Century humans. How about you? Have you ever incorporated it into your games? Have you ever run an episode revolving around a religious theme of some sort? What race and what religion? How did it work out?
I am working on something myself, and when I finally get it done, I'll post it to this thread. Right now, I am extremely anxious to hear your views concerning this subject in your games.
