I keep wanting to use Treat Williams as a Captain on a ship, I think he has a graet look

I use George Clooney as my Captain Lee Zymmer and our current Captain is Jeffery Hunter, but a bit older and with grey temples

Actually no, I wouldn't let him get away with that

But given that he is an old SFB head his character is named Captain Anthony J Stocker

I'm blessed as a narrator to have nine (!) players who show up regularly, get along for the most part, and enjoy a simple night of good fun. Other than the before mentioned recent problem of playing six degrees of kevin bacon at odd times during the game with their celebrity portrayals, we don't have any big problems. Each of them chose a celeb to represent their character:

    CAPT Weishahan, Bol Robert Duvall
CDR Ethan Dawes, Hum Russell Crowe
LCDR Ramona Lukin,MD* Hum Connie Nielson
LT Janus Endileev, And Vin Diesel
    LT Ijan Masters, AC Sting
LT Collette Medrard, Hum Laetisha Casta
LT Shannyn Urriko, Hum Shannyn Sossamon
LT Cless Mora*, Baj Sarah M. Gellar
LT Tessa Lincoln, AC Nicole Robinson

They don't like to cross dress (male player with female character and vice versa) but the gender numbers are close enough. Anyone else care to share your portrayals?

    * Lukin from the Core rule book; player liked the character an awful lot.

    * Thanks to Don Mappin for the submission of Cless Mora. Hope she's living up to your expectation in my universe.

Hmmm. Sarah Michelle Gellar as Cless? Maybe with the darker hair as in "Cruel Intentions"... Hmmm.

    I like it!

    But then, I'm wierd...

Whoa! Okay, that blew me away.

Wow, someone actually using my NPC as a PC in another game? Cool!

I’ve gotta hear more on how this worked out. Cless is probably retired in my games, although I would jump at any opportunity to play her, either as an NPC or PC.

Well, for my current main LUGTrek Character I have cast Armand Assante with a beard as Fleet Captain Jaime Wolfe. He has the qualities that I was looking for when I did this.

As for his wife, Captain Jessica Atreides-Wolfe (yes, the player loves Dune & couldn't wait for the LUGTrek version & even payed $5,000 for a copy off of eBay.) But, she is an Amazon (a Home-Brew Human Race we created). So we used a pic of Cladia Black from Farscape.

But, for Lt. Commander Ryder Kaine the player wanted to use his own picture & he does fit the role of a tough Security Chief.

As for the rest of the PCs, when I surf the 'Net I will save pics of people that I like for use as NPCs & PCs, & then when I create the character, I will put the pic of that character into the sheet & print it out. Works really well as it gives the players an idea of what their character looks like & adds to their enjoyment of the game. So if you want to do it, do it.

Five grand, huh...? A little -- no, a lot over the top, don't you think?

Amazons: glad to see someone else on my wavelength. We've got 'em in our Trek campaign. They are a genetically-altered race of women (they do import men as sexual indentured servants, but just for good genetic material or fun.)

Needless to say, they are not a member of the UFP, and continued diplomatic attempts to get them to open their society and stop the indenture have so far failed. They are closely linked to the Orions and Ferengi & get a bunch of support from them.

Don, you'll be happy to know that LT Cless Mora is the chief of security on the USS Vor'kaan. The game year is 2371, and thus the ship is brand new. LT Cless and her companions are taking the Vor'kaan on a year long shake down and flag waving tour of the Federation, with a final destination in the Arteline sector where I intend to play out the adventures of A Fragile Peace. In the meantime, I've been using some of the adventure ideas from the planets of the UFP supplement, including the most recent adventure where LT Cless, LT Masters, LT Endileev, and LT Lincoln (PC's from my game, see above if you're interested) arrived via runabout at the Caldos Colony to evaluate the colony's weather control matrix and perform annual upkeep. The rest of the crew (one of the rare nights when only four could show, but real life DOES occassionally intervene) were off on the Vor'kaan assiting a nearby stellar observatory with readings on unusual solar eruptions and fluxuations. This had nothing to do with the adventure, but got the ship out of the way and provided explanation for why the PC's could not easily contact their crutches...err... shipmates.

As for the stalwart PC's, they played through what became a sort of Cthulu style mission dealing with a convergence of the anaphasic organisms so prolific on the colony and believed by the populace to be ghosts. All in all, I stole boldface from Lovecraft's Colour Out of Space, but it went over without a hitch.

LT Cless was key in solving several problems, and played out some very good introspective scenes. There was a dramatic moment where unflappable, unstoppable, fearless Cless revealed that she was terrified of the anaphasic creatures, that she knew there was more to them than simple scientific explanation, like the Prophets or the Pah Wraiths. For the first time in her life she had met an enemy that could not be defeated through force, and she was afraid. But ultimately, she solved the puzzles with the help of the others to stop the creatures, and grew as a character.

I sat down with Cless's player just after this adventure. Taking a cue from your clever "torture" seed in the character information, we decided that something at Caldos triggered the genetic tampering which she'd undergone, and over the course of the next couple of episodes, she is going to slowly become Cardassian. We'll see where it goes. If it plays out nicely, then so be it. If it turns a little too B horror movie, then we'll solve it quick, vow to never speak of it again, and move on.

If it pleases you to know, LT Cless lives on in another parallel universe from yours. She might not be what you remember, but we hope you can be proud of what she's become nevertheless.

Apologies if this gets us too far afield of topic. Anybody out there want to let me know who you use for portrayals?

Glad to hear it, Don. I'm sure Cless's player will be happy to know she's not screwing up your creation too badly.

Uhhh, I just want to make sure I read that right the player paid $5,000 (five Thousand) for the LUG Dune on ebay. Jeez and I thought I paid alot for it, $150 Am (thats about 300 Cdn. $5000, wow...I mean WOW!

Yes I could definetly see Armand Assante as a starfleet (Fleet) Captain. Should see if you can find The Odyssey, where he plays another great captain...Odysseus. With a beard of course.

Yes, she did pay $5,000 for a copy of Dune on eBay. I thought it was foolish, but then again I am not her.

And, I always have thought that Armand Assante would make a great Starfleet Captain.

Well…I just played a new ‘movie era’ Captain, and I hybridized Bruce Willis (from his “John McClane” in Die Hard) and Gregory Peck (from his characters in “Cape Fear”[the original], "To Kill a Mockingbird", not to mention his numerous millitary roles). I don’t know; think I got out of the ‘Willis’-side then the ‘Peck’-side…only Korga could say for sure…

Another character I want to work-on/base-on is a Merchant Marine Captain that I want to base on the Fisherman/Sailor [Quint] from “Jaws” (“…huntin' Great White's isn’t like huntin' tiger sharks, ). Imagine that accent used in something like, “So, two more lured by space’s siren…” This could be cool .

Five grand, still can't picture that. WOW!

Robert Shaw is the name of the actor who played Quint in Jaws. A good choice for a merchie captain.

    Five grand? Uh uh...

Let her know I have a copy that I’d be willing to let go for a mere $2,500 (half price!) and I can get it signed by the creators!
