Question Which of the theme songs do you prefer?

I found a web page that had snips of the various theme songs and I found I had a problem picking which I liked best. Which got me wondering. . .which do you like?

I searched the boards to see if I could find a past poll but found none. Sorry if this has been done before.

I picked the TNG, though I did like the Voyager theme, as wel. And to my surprise, the Enterprise one has grown on me.
"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

I picked ENT. As qerlin said, it has grown on me...

I'm not as keen on the enterprise theme song as I am on the show itself. I've never been a fan of the TNG theme (in any of its incarnations...TMP, TFF or TNG), and as much as I love the original theme, DS9's (of the five) is the best of the lot.

Now, of all the Trek themes, I would have to go with TWoK.

Althought I voted for Voyager's theme, mostly because I often switch channels between the teaser and the rest of the episode when I watch a TNG rerun (can't stand it, at all), my favorite would be the openings of ST:TWOK and ST:TUC

It's a trick question, right? Only one of the Trek series has a theme song - Enterprise. All the others have instrumental themes. Well, OK, TOS had lyrics, but they were never used...

Unfortunately, even given that Enterprise has the only theme song, I can't choose it as my favourite. As I've said before, it's a second rate cover of a second rate Rod Stewart song from a second rate Robin Williams movie.

Of all the instrumental themes, TOS still has a special place, but the Theme From Star Trek, The Motion Picture (the official title of TNG's theme - check out the credits at the end of [i]Generations) is my favourite. I prefer the movie version, but the TNG version is pretty good.

Actually, the question should be "Of all the Star Trek theme music, which one is your most favorite?"
    Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

I'd have to say DS9, second 1/2 of the series

Really? When it comes to the DS9 theme, I prefer the early-years, slower version of the theme with the single french horn playing.

    DS9 for me

It's almost "Fanfare for the Common Man", one of my all-time favourite classical pieces

Barring that, I go back to TOS

I'm with you, man. The DS9 theme from the first three seasons is my favorite Trek theme of all. I'll listen to it everytime, rather than fast-forward.

I don't like the later version at all. Can't stand it. Instant fast-forward material.

I never knew about that. What were they? Or do you have a link I can check out?

Went something like this (I probably made a lot of mistakes, so you've been warned)

    Somewhere, out beyond the moonlight
My love is wand'ring the starlight
I know he'll find in the depths of space, love-
love that a strange star-woman teaches.

I know his journey ends never
His star trek will go on forever
Oh, please tell him for me
    Remember me.

    Actually, It goes like this

    Beyond,
    the rim of star-light,

    My love,
    is wandering in star-flight

I know, he find in star clustered reaches,
    love-stange love that a star-woman teaches.

I know his journey ends never
His star trek must go on forever
But tell him as he wanders the starry sea
    Remember, Remember me!

God I have way to much time on my hands!

As a side note, Jack Black's band Tenacious D Does of cover of the song with lyrics
